Perpetually off Photosynthesis and being unable to turn on Photosynthesis in the Cell Process Panel (OpenGL Mode, 1.1.0.0)

I just had a major bug. Photosynthesis does not work at all (using OpenGL Mode)! This might be related to the doubling of Photosynthesis while moving bug I got yesterday while playing the newest update.

I think this is the sequence of events. I first started a playthrough without tutorial enabled. After entering the first editor session, I went to settings and enabled β€œShow tutorials in current game”. Then I followed the tutorials, with me finishing the organelle tutorial by placing two Hydrogenases vertically. I then changed to Double Membrane and the Temperature and Pressure tolerances (both range and interval). After I moved to the sea floor, the next editor session I added the unlocked Nitrogenase to the right side, and changed the Temperature and Pressure tolerances range and interval sliders again. I moved to the Basoplegagic, and in the next editor session I got rid of the Nitrogenase, added two Hydrogenases vertically to make it four Hydrogenases, and adjusted Temperature and Pressure tolerance range and inveral sliders again. The next editor session, I added a Rusticyanin and Chemosynthesising Proteins, and tried to Temperature and Pressure Tolerances again, moved to the Mesopelagic. That editor session, I adjusted the Temperature, Pressure, and UV tolerances, moved to Ice Shelf, and migrated half the population (25) to another Mesopelagic.

The Ice Shelf editor session, I added two Thylakoids, adjusted all the tolerance sliders again, moved to Epipelagic, but the game failed to migrate (got red text), as it tried to move 100 (even though it should be 25). I tried the migration again, it failed (got red text again). On the third time it, the migration worked. Then in the Epipelagic, I noticed that the Photosynthesis is not working. I tried to turn it on and off, but it did not work. The next editor session, I added two more Thylakoids, and moved to the Banana Biome, tried to turn the Photosynthesis on and off, but it still did not work. This is when I made the quick save. Reloading the save, going back to the main menu and loading the save, and restarting the game does not restore being able to turn on Photosynthesis.

That’s very strange.

Could you provide the save file that shows the problem?

Actually, I don’t think it is a bug anymore. The ATP from the process speed of other compounds is overflowing and preventing Photosynthesis from needing to be turned on. When I turn off the Iron and Chemosynthesis (I am able to turn those processess off), then Photosynthesis turns back on.

I can still give you the quick save in case you want to investigate the weird failed migrations.

Alright, then I don’t really need the save if this was just a misunderstanding of how the processes work.

I was slightly worried because in the past there has been a bug where if you turned a process of, you could not turn it back on (luckily we caught that bug before it went out in a public release).
