I have been thinking about one thing: How would setting plate tectonics look like in the planet editor?
Would they reflect how you want the continents to look like when you enter the civ stages?

How would it know how many generations it would take you to get to the civ stage? Even if you set it “look this way after x billion y million z thousand and whatever years”, could you guaranty in advance you would not end up entering the civ stage millions of years earlier or later than that date?

Yeah that’s the problem. Perhaps the player shouldn’t be allowed to edit a planet’s continents when entering a “full run” and only when entering a run of the “civ stages” when presumably plate tectonics would be no longer simulated as in moving the continents (but still could cause earthquakes and stuff).
