Looks like that’ll be an another round to the streak…
Also a very interesting fact fermentation creates heat which increase body tempature a fair bit.
I guess that can be useful for when somebody wants to go for warm blood…
I wonder if all the plant eaters will have to adapt panting, or other body cooling methods, in the near future?
All our creatures are still cold-blooded to my knowledge. Also they’re reptile-like, so it shouldn’t be too hard to develop sweating.
Doesn’t help my lad who also is warm due to its size.
Sweating can offer huge help in cooling down a creature still. All it needs is for the species to live abovewater.
True but it’s also a very niche species which evolved sweating and other methods exist especially for a creature which cannot run (as in all four limbs are off the ground at once)
We should also start thinking about the future before us.
In some 10 rounds the “Progress” will get up to 100%, most likely meaning civilization will descend upon the world.
We will have some 20 mutations to spend until that happens, including the 2 we spend after round 3 was released…
Anything can happen, hell as unlikely as it is maybe humanity just stop, though don’t take my word lol.
I bet some new mechanics will be introduced on round #14 regarding their arrival…
Ms paint on pc, Pixlr on mobile.
Yeah, you should probably prepare. I’d focus on new patches( food) and intelligence.
I’ll make sure humans out of all things won’t put an end to Volarae attempt #3.
So something good is that the bones being hollowed might allow the creature to cool down my efficently cause of the moisture from mouth and nose could disappaite the heat around the head.
I guess that’d help.
Also you’re halfway to spacefaring now!
I was confused for a second then I remember the “rank” thing exist right next to the name.
Cause I was saying to myself “I am not even near space fairing as a elephant sized lizard”
Also remember that thread creation counts as making a post.
Round 4

The world
91% Complete…
The Fungus
It started slowly. A few deaths here and there, nothing out of the ordinary. It seemed harmless - just another simple infection, spreading slowly. But then, something changed. The disease spread quickly, killing creatures before they even noticed. Before long, it had spread across the entire planet - a Fungal Plague…
All creatures: -3 sustainable population.

cha - Greater Ompard
A large grazer, with complex mating rituals using ultraviolet plumage.

Surprisingly, no creatures have evolved intelligence yet.
M1: Develop an Immune system, which will not only deal with the fungus but also with the pathogens coming from the corpses.
M2: Thanks to the heart upgrade, the neural network of the specimens gets a major upgrade, forming many ganglions of neurons across their bodies.
Genuine question here cause I can’t find an answer does it take longer for a virus or pathogen to kill its host if it’s larger?
Merely asking cause I know cancer in whales kill each other due to the size of them.
