Gonna switch the second mutation so my lad can be in the jungle, so thicker skin to keep water out ig? Or skin that leads water to the ground or mouth depending on location.

By the way cat^2 the ā€œnew patchesā€ section could say something if there has been no patch types discovered in the round.

Round 5

@Cha @willow @aah31415 @AnthropocenianAge

The world

92% Completeā€¦

The Fungus
The Fungus has been weakened by the development of immune systems, but only just. It is still killing many creatures.

Fungus Health: 6/9 (-1 per round, -1 per immune system mutation)

The Fungus lowers your sustainable population depending on itā€™s health (9-7 is 3, 6-4 is 2, 3-1 is 1, 0 is 0)

Immune systems reduce The Fungusā€™s health, and reduces itā€™s damage to you by 1.

All creatures: -2 sustainable population.

Mutation Uno: larger fermentation stomach to process more food while bulk eating

Mutation dos: airsacs spread across the body (internally of course)

Also question cat^2 while we have been using airsac as a movement bonus airsacs in sauropods and that likely help them float or stay up right in water which they couldnā€™t just walk across due to sheer size, is isnā€™t swimming per say but they could still move and not drown for a while due to it.

So I am merely asking if it covers the same area as swimming although poorly in comparison to a real swimmer or if the mutation has to add something directly helping swimming?

I think you could swim now, or at least enough to inhabit lakes.

Alright, time for flight
M1 and M2: The loosely-hanging 2 pairs of limbs turn into two pairs of wings enabling powered flight

M1: fins running down the sides of the torso, increasing surface area exposed to light(and thus surface area that can be used for photosynthesis)
M2: lung cells produce lots of myoglobin, increasing the amount of oxygen that can be stored, allowing longer periods of time spent underwater, and making the lungs Blood red

How would castes and stuff work like?

It would make the most sense to have the castes and caste upgrades just act as normal mutations.

So a caste species would have the same amout of mutation votes in total as a species without castes, right?

M1: Evolves an Adaptive Immune system to combat any future potential pathogens.
M2: Evolves the habit of digging in the dirt to allow water to seep up and create mud wallows, or mud baths, for covering the organism in mud and cooling off in hotter environments; this gives Heat Resistance 1.

And so the streak continuesā€¦

My only question would be how would mud baths help in say a desert? Cause I want to remember itā€™s just a bunch of sand and rarely rains unless itā€™s the one storm passing through. Though it defiantly would help in dry areas.

My guess is that it would help in all warm areas BUT the deserts and other dry places.

Fair enough cause ik thereā€™s oasis but I donā€™t think dirt exist around those temporary water holes.

I guess the reptiles could just walk inside the waters of the oasis, but Iā€™m not sure if that still counts in the mud rolling thingā€¦

Doubt it and itā€™s a very poor method to stay cool especially when they have to move to a new one.

Not sure if itā€™s that much worse than coating oneself in cool mudā€¦
