Planet genesis

I mean at least the mud will cover them and not hit their skin directly by the sun even if it will fracture and dry on them. Though both are not useful in a desert

I can guess mud might be a bit better. But not enough for survival with just this method of heat moderation.

Ya know I 100% believe the adult specimens lack the plumage or have very short one to not overheat. (My species that is)

I wonder just how soon will we encounter the steel wall…

my guess its somewhere in the ocean

And probably close, as we’re approaching the shores already…

Just to clarify, the construction appears to be around the black line to the south:

Oh I see. So it’s not a biome afterall…

Yes, it’s a wall, but not kilometres thick, like 100m thick. And it is almost fully constructed.

How high does it stretch?

150m tall currently, but as of this round, it is not yet finished, so I can only say what you can see now.

What if my flying critters were to fly above the wall? Would they get shot down or smth?

Well, no creatures have yet gone near the wall, so what will happen is unknown. But you would probably get shot if you tried to fly over.

I can guess beyond the wall lie the grounds meant for human settlement…

Round 6

@Cha @willow @aah31415 @AnthropocenianAge

The world

93% Complete…

The Drought

The clattering ceased. The dull groaning of machinery stopped. Ships stopped landing. The Steel Wall had been constructed. The site abandoned by all but the autonomous security drones, patrolling constantly.

It remained this way for many days and many nights, until something changed.

The wall shuddered, sealing of the land behind, but most importantly, the water. Within days the powerful river had halved in size, becoming a small stream. Within months the plants started to wilt from the drought. Within years, even the lake dried up. The Drought was upon this world, and there was no stopping it…

Lake A Becomes Dried-up Lakebed A

False Salamander: No extra food from eggs/endosymbiosis in temperate patches.

All creatures: -2 Sustainable population (increases each round)

The Fungus
The Fungus has only partially been weakened by the new immune systems, still being killing as many creatures as last round.

Fungus Health: 4/9 (-1 per round, -1 per immune system mutation)

The Fungus lowers your sustainable population depending on it’s health (9-7 is 3, 6-4 is 2, 3-1 is 1, 0 is 0)

Immune systems reduce The Fungus’s health, and reduces it’s damage to you by 1.

All creatures: -2 sustainable population.

M1: Better Eyesight
M2: “Mesothermy”, allowing the creatures to warm up their bodies via metabolism if needed (for instance during a fungal infection, as fungi don’t fare well in high temperatures)

Mutation Uno: broad circular feet to spread the weight evenly out and not sink into the ground or just longer legs so even if they do sink they can just walk past without much problem.

Mutation dos: A hump/fat storage at where the tail and hind legs meet to endure harsh times without food and water.

Shouldn’t you also need the adaptation of turning fat into water efficiently?

Maybe? I guess for the time it’s just a food storage hump until the water mutation.

Water conversion sure does make humps more useful.
