Should we create a Wikipedia entry for Thrive?

When I searched “Thrive” on Wikipedia, I got this result:

I think making a Wikipedia entry for Thrive would help spread the awareness of the game and what it is about. Of course, it would be a team effort to make the page, since I have never published (I believe that is the proper term) an entry on Wikipedia. What does everyone else think?

Since Thrive has such a small community, the Wikipedia folk may not accept it as the game has a too small and too dedicated community. That’s the reason why BFDI has no article apparently.

So we’d have to wait with this until aware development or so then.

What about when the game reaches 1.0.0.0? Or would we need to wait longer for the game gain more traction?

The later, 1.0.0.0 might not be enough here.

if we have access to decent sources on our history or features that’d be pretty cool. honestly looking at the references on the supertuxkart wikipedia page, we likely have plenty for a decent article.

The reason why a page on Thrive doesn’t exist is because there’s not enough independent sources to write a Wikipedia page with. In fact people have written one multiple times, and I think there should still be a talk page existing outlining the reasons for deletion.

So it is not up to us whatsoever, but up to news websites for them to cover Thrive before there’s enough independent references talking about Thrive before a Wikipedia page can be written. So if someone wants a Wikipedia page for Thrive, which would be nice I admit, they first need to go around legitimate news sites and try to get them to cover Thrive (GamingOnLinux which covers us often is sadly not enough). There was an inquiry about a magazine writing about Thrive some time ago, but I’ve not heard if that was published (which if it was could be the final bit of extra information needed to justify a Wikipedia page).

How long ago was the magazine supposed to release the Thrive writing?

I don’t know what the usual lead-up times are for printed magazines to start researching in-depth articles about a topic before it ends up in the printed magazine.

When did we first hear about this magazine plan/concept then?

I don’t want to cause trouble by publicly discussing this topic before it is actually released.

I see. I do hope we won’t miss/forget the release of the fabled magazine…
