action: save up energy for later use
(also, sorry for the delay everyone, new round is coming later today)
As ecology continues to develop, the first glimpses of a defined food chain and multicellularity are appearing as well, these may soon start an arms race, leading to exponentially more complex creatures; but for now, they’re just better microbes than they were yesterday.
A few hours before this periodic ecosystem checkup, autonomous systems detected an unidentified object emerging at great speed from the northern polar regions, seemingly pulled by 9 smaller objects, one of which being particularily luminous around a 700 nanometer wavelength; it has sent a message and some remarkably complete survey data, both are now available in the “New data” section of the database.
New data (setting updates)

“You’ve all been very good this year… er- geological eon? I’ve not had anyone to send gifts to for a very long time, so here’s some data I felt you could make use of, ho ho ho!”
[Unknown sender, plant fiber-graphite communication medium, scanning…]
There’s a long piece of paper in the cargo bay, seemingly containing the desires of every organism on the planet, can they even desire something? It doesn’t matter, this data will be valuable insight on how to further improve your organisms
(all players get double mutations this round)

Biome database
Sea surface: where this whole experiment began, this biome is has a relatively low salinity compared to the rest of the sea, it also gets somewhat illuminated at noon
Mediopelagic: the collective term that defines most of Earth’s new seas, stretches from the depth at which the sun’s light can no longer reach further nearly to the sea floor
Sedimentopelagic: a brine pool even by this world’s standards, not the true sea floor as salt becomes the main component instead of water before you can reach actual rock; however if you can surive most of the sea’s salt, you’ll be rewarded with most of every other non-organic compound the sea has accumulated
M1: Nucleus
M2: Endoplasmic Reticulum (does this increase my survivability?)
A: Modify the amount of Components my species already has so that it can better support the nucleus
Also, are the endosymbionts not supposed to show up in Components?
Change my species name to: Obscurus Megaminuta (Dark Large-Small)
m1: proteins to stab through membranes to move proteins through them, namely the nanowire stitching proteins and themselves, which keep open the hole connecting the cytoplasm allowing nutrient transfer between cells, and among bulla tonitrui cells, electricity transfer as well due to nanowires getting connected to circuits in cells other than the one they formed in.
M2: outer membrane which is unstable enough to fuse with other membranes of the same type, allowing the salt lenses to be kept in an area they won’t grow or dissolve and allowing higher water concentration inside the cytoplasm while still allowing bulla tonitrui cells to make the same shape. all the same proteins still exist within this membrane but little to no RNA is contained in the intermembrane space at the moment.
A: bulla tonitrui cells now make bigger structures to focus more light onto a larger area, and recently colonies have been engulfing cells of other species fairly often, leading to the ones who engulfed Obscurus Megaminutia cells being more successful as they can digest the cells from outside of their species that they ingest (bulla tonitrui cells just combine their outer membrane wit the rest of the colony’s outer membrane while other species’ of cells just get a ‘vacuole’ around them from not having an outer membrane to fuse with the colony’s, but without lysosomes the cells in the vacuole just stay there)
the endoplasmatic reticulum is mainly used by an advanced cell to create smaller membranes withis itself for storage and transport, it’s also a requisite to build and maintain membranous organelles
Mutation uno: turn Chemosyntase protein into an organelle
Mutation dos: forming nucleus using the nucleotide into real DNA to form the nuclues.
Action: Improve the Methanogensis?
Mutation: Chloroplast
Action: Hunt for more food
@doomlightning we need your votes
M1: Lysosome
M2: Quorum sensing
A: improve ingulfing
@CatSquared could you give me your second mutation please?
@doomlightning what do you mean by “quorum sensing” ?
I think quorum sensing is supposed to be this:
like he showed, quorum sensing its a why to bacterium to communicate base on they pop size and act differently, like the bacterium in some squid in high density they glow in biolominasize but only if they have enough high pop in a eria
its also know as part of biofilm formasen
and yes, that old meme still alive and well
that was write without side help (I mean second party)
Mutation 2: More Cillia
hello can i join or is it too late
yeah, you can join, just read the first messag of the thread and fill out your species’ data
so new players can only branch off of SLUCA?
