The stage starts when the player has developed a central nervous system and their species becomes aware of their surroundings.
I don’t believe there will be a multiverse in Thrive, and likely (for programer and computer health) a single galaxy to explore in the space stage.

but there will always be mods that add more galaxies and universes so it would be best to leave that as a mod for the people with high end PCs even if the devs wanted those in the game(as an official mod in that case)
oh i know that. I just don’t want people to be disappointed when there is no way to explore the whole universe within the vanilla version of Thrive.
