They can burrow into flesh, with minimum pain. They might also be able to take control by interfacing with the nervous system as they have bioelectric abilities similar to nervous tissue which is how they’re able to coordinate and share information so well. My species did evolve as parasites of a subterranean superorganism after all.
I suppose a few zooids trying to hijack these attackers could be worth a good shot
I notice that a very large percentage voted not to focus on destroying the lasers! I agree with this opinion, I think it is a top priority to pursue if we want to minimize loss of life.
I also see a tie between illusion and attack from below. I assume we will use both then and only hope it works for us.
I will convey the results of the discussion to those responsible on the battlefield and pray that the situation will be in our favor.
I will report back very soon on the progress of the battle.
I remind you that this is not an enemy we can underestimate.
Did you mean to put that “not” here?
This image is bugged out methinks
Yes
Maybe try writing longer posts next time
What was this supposed to be? It is also bugged out on my end.
Also, I hope the next part of the battle goes well for us.
I am receiving data that the move is happening right now.
But I am trying to organize it for you so that you can understand the situation..
It will take time (because I have an unexpected assignment that I must complete. And a holiday)
Didn’t know robots had holidays, what is it?
This is a special holiday that I was programmed to disconnect from all sensors and ‘rest’, it’s called [white static noise].
(But in reality, tomorrow starts ‘Shavuot’.. It lasts a day but I’m still available… just celebrating with the family and making crumb cheesecake
)
Well hopefully nothing sudden happens with the isekai attack during that time
That is making me feel hungry.
This and doom’s post would probably make for a great contribution to the favourite food thread
And we’re back in the war room with another live report from the field. Let me see what’s going on… Okay, this is the live-from-the-field breakdown of all our results:
Fighting on the bank of our walls, a special team was organized during the battle where the protagonists began to climb the walls. The team defending the wall began to use large stones to knock him down. Some were crushed but others showed very strong dexterity and climbed the black wall as if nothing had happened. Drakonis is still confronting some of the Vengare group, managing to take down some of them, but the lasers that stood at the edge of the forest began to arm themselves. Some of the protagonists served as living batteries, starting to load the weapons.
The first shot was fired directly at Drakonis. He took light damage, but it did not stop him.
This gave a signal to those who had received the order to confront and try to stop the further shooting, mortars were launched in their direction. At least two of them managed to hit the laser weapons directly, taking down a significant amount, but also starting a large fire among the treetops as a result of the mortar. The news that some of the laser team managed to neutralize them or at least disperse them.
Some of our more elite teams began using metal moles to try to dig underground and surprise them with powder weapons belonging to us. And we succeeded in a big way with the surprise causing them confusion, but compared to the elite team - they are fundamentally much stronger, so the confrontation is difficult and there are many losses on both sides.
A special team that deals with ritual channeling into illusion, despite the previous attempt failing, is trying to succeed this time. But it took too long when some of the protagonists managed to climb to the edge of the walls and confront the army guarding the walls. I can describe how bloody it was. But it can be said that our plans helped to deal with some of their plans. Additional reinforcements are starting to arrive while groups have begun to disperse in droves but show no willingness to give up.
One moment, I receive a report from the team that remained on the western wall. A siege engine has been spotted advancing towards the northwest wall!
I get another report from the siege engine: According to urgent calls and with the military team starting to engage some of them on the ground, in a very hard fight, I fear this is all a diversion from the real thing - it looks like a cannon armed with plasma weapons from other aliens, and it is being towed by a semi-identified creature, estimated to be an āyōtōchtli (category: tracked, unspecified), heavily armored, slow, like a giant armadillo, tied like a beast pulling the weapon. It is a weapon that looks improvised but it seems that one of the protagonists is spotted as someone who understands this technology. It is not a good sign if this weapon has fired - the plasma power is strong enough to crack our wall! I have already sent reinforcements to this side of the wall as well, but what is worse - the number of protagonists is much larger than the team that Drakonis and the ground team are currently sent to fight.
And that’s just one siege weapon out of an unknown quantity, and it’s known better than two. Feels like a tactical exercise.
General Report:
Injured: 2940~
Killed: 102~
Enemy eliminated: 91~
Estimated number on the northern wall: ~201
Estimated number on the northwestern wall: ~400-500~
This is still not all of their military power. Moreover, the first siege weapon has been exposed and is at least a kilometer away from the nearest wall. It is well protected with unknown personnel. There is a great fear that the true leader of the team has not yet revealed himself or even exists.
There is evidence that there are those who control āyōtōchtli as if by thought. If we eliminate them, it will be a good sign.
The illusion ability that was cast is not stable enough to repel or deceive so many protagonists, but the ground team and the elimination of large laser weapons have proven to be a great success. We could use our laser weapons to target the target, but that could knock out our city’s power grid, so there’s only one shot left.
Drakonis is holding a significant position and I hope it stays that way. We must seize this opportunity since they fired their weapons. I predict the odds will be in our favor, so we should execute a plan accordingly.
I need ideas from all of you on what to do in our war room. I’ll try to locate the rest of the enemy team.

Could we create a pysionic and/or magic pulse to disrupt the mental connection to the siege weapon?
We should eliminate that individual if possible
I will reuse my suggestion of me joining the fight, I could try and infect/take control of the person in charge of the siege weapon using a small split off clump of shed zooids, and attempt to sneak up on them…If there is nearby cover I could try to lure some of the guards away via more split off sections of myself and take control of them. If successful I could turn the siege weapon against them.
We should also take the things with which we destroyed the lasers and move them over to where the wallbreaker is heading
