Hello? Are you awake?
Excellent! It worked, thank God! I thought you wouldn’t survive the transition.
Wait, you want to ask who I am? Who are you? What are you?
Okay, okay, don’t panic—my name is “Divination fOr Operation and Management”, but you can always call me D.O.O.M if that’s easier for you. My job is to organize information, manage systems and operations, and make predictions. Don’t ask why I have this function, it’s not relevant right now.
What is more relevant is that you are one of the ministers of the city of Sublimpolis! Congratulations!
Wait… you want to know how you got this job or how you got here.
I don’t think I can help you with that. I don’t exactly remember… But what I can tell you is that you are a representative of the city’s minister—the same assembly known as “the Consulate” where you and all the other ministers of this city discuss what to do with the future of Sublimpolis.
Want to know more about it? Of course I can tell you more!
The city of Sublimpolis is built on a dormant caldera, where all of our energy comes from to feed the city’s needs. What’s more, the city is known for its giant walls that surround our entire city! Each one is at least 100 meters high! Very impressive, isn’t it?
Well… It is also the last city or the last outpost of humanity against invasions by aliens, mutants, interdimensional creatures, supernaturals, Isekai, chimeras, demons, golems, cults, uncontrolled living runes, zombies, vampires, magical aliens, ghosts, witches, anomalies of all kinds, portals… I forgot something… Oh yes! Demigods, messiahs, uncontrolled artificial intelligence, bioids, walking trees and mountains, miniature universes, and kaijus.
So no pressure ![]()
After all, as a minister, you are responsible for a specific area of the city in order to ensure its survival…
Wait! What kind of minister are you exactly? Oh no! Is my data incomplete? How could I wake you up and forget why I woke you and the other ministers up! I should have seen this coming.
Well! I guess we’ll do it the old-fashioned way.
Let’s see…
I need the following data from you:
Data
Name: Not mandatory. I have your real name on file, but I guess everyone needs a fresh start if they want one.
Position: What position will you hold as a minister? No two ministers can share the same position, and no minister can hold more than one position… at least for now.
Additional details: I assume you can write anything except your background, because it’s irrelevant, but I don’t control your choices. Here’s an example:
Are you from a particular race? The city contains more than just humans, especially since there are refugees arriving from all over the known world.
Do you have a history? I assume that connections are just as important as your current employment.
What do you look like? That’s self-explanatory.
Once you’re done working on it, send it to me and I’ll take care of my part to make sure everything is in order.
I serve as an advisor, implementation manager, and fortune teller.
Fortune teller, you ask? Indeed, I am! With the best technology, I am the most advanced predictor of the future. However, because our world is influenced by too many external factors, my ability to predict your choices is very complex.
For simplicity’s sake, I will tell you how many choices you can make each time the console is assembled, and from that I will pull out my prediction cards from among all the possible outcomes I have predicted. My problem is that I cannot reveal them until everyone has made their choice. But for each of your choices, you can match it to the hidden card for the choice you made. You can choose the same card for all your choices, and others can choose the same card you chose… because after all, I can’t pull out many.
And no, you’re wrong—it’s not tarot cards… it’s… to be honest with you—I have no idea. Maybe it’s really tarot, mantras, or Lenormand, I guess it’s random or none of those. Whatever comes out of the prediction, you’ll be satisfied.
Where was I? These cards will ultimately predict whether your choices went as expected, better, worse, or in a completely unexpected direction that will affect everyone.
You keep the cards to yourself, and you can use them to bargain with me for bonuses you want to make with me or with the other ministers.
Besides that, did I mention that you can get promoted with your work? If a minister from the console doesn’t quite meet expectations, you can try to overthrow him because he is worthy of the position and take over his position.
I suppose that at this rate, if only one minister remains, he will become the king/queen of the place. The one who rules over all. If the city can still hold out, that is.
I guess that explains everything for now. I will always be here to help and support each of the ministers here (who are the powerful people of our city) and hope that by the next time, the city will still be standing.
Well, no pressure…
Good luck!
I guess you can already get a sense of what’s going on - it’s a combination of ‘Nephilim’ and ‘Axion inc’, but I was thinking of a darker twist.
Simply put - you are a minister who helps a city function and help it cope both internally and externally, with all the chaos that’s happening outside. Any number of elections will determine what I say (it could be one [vote], it could be several. I say).
Cards determine the fate of your elections. You collect the cards to draw, depending on what you got and you can give them back to me in exchange for something and bargain with me (I need these cards)
This card system is the prototype of the Remmortal card system, so I’m using you to test this system before the tenth round :).
If you have any questions, you can always ask me or clarify something, I am, after all, your friendly AI.
