Sublimpolis

The lore of the world?
According to my archive of data: Pretty much all information was destroyed.
I described it at least a generation ago, with the city itself serving as the last outpost of humanity being built after it began.
Many people, especially the adults who survived, describe the event as ‘appearing in broad daylight’, as if in one moment everything changed and all physical laws and logic went to waste.

To summarize briefly: all these phenomena appeared, caused the deaths of billions of people, everything turned into chaos. If the technology that survived the phenomenon, founded the city of ‘Sublimpolis’. There were other cities in the past similar, but they all fell because of… well, everything. What happens outside, above human logic or any other refugees who are here. Some also say they experienced the same thing.

This phenomenon was given the name ‘Madness’, obviously. Besides, there used to be a cansola, and that was before I was built, but they all resigned one by one due to pressure. So I took the initiative to choose one, as the one with the authorization for the city.

How did you get here? Why should I tell you? You will face this responsibility.

Is our quest just to survive or take the entire planet back?

This can go both ways.
First - survive, before you can think about taking back the territories humanity has lost.

What are the walls made of that they have survived the attacks of all these horrors thus far?

I have a feeling something similar to a “doom wish” might’ve happened…

Wall data: 100 m high at the lowest points.
At least 50 m wide of steel-reinforced concrete, basalt, nano-carbonite coating on a base of granite mixed with titanium to a depth of 300 m.
With all the technology and access to materials at the time they were built, these are the most possible and so far - have stood the test of time.

According to physiocosmological analyses, no abnormality was found that could indicate a drastic change in some problem that could explain the ‘madness’. True, there are conspiracy theories that say that a higher hand did this, but we have no way to prove this and I say quite a ridiculous idea…

It would probably get stuck in my throat if it were proven true.

Are you saying there’s something magical that can do this? If so, I’m more than happy for you to discover one, but it’s total fantasy! Not that anything else that happened outside the city walls is anything less than a fantasy… or a nightmare.

How did the construction of the city succeed with the world already enmaddened by the time it’s creation began?

Maybe the city was already being constructed prior to the madness?

If so that’d require at least the walls to have been decently completed by then

Construction began about 20 years ago, already during the ‘madness’.

I assume more luck than intelligence. There were several problems that had to be solved:

  1. Finding a safe place
  2. Safely supplying survival conditions
  3. Access to materials
  4. The ability of the place to cope in the long term in case things fail.

A lot of brains were involved in finding the dormant caldera, a fertile place in terms of ensuring nutrition and an ideal place to store water, but with all this madness, the chances were slim. But here, they always say that there is no zero.
Hundreds of thousands of blood sacrificed themselves along with thousands of machines and robots just to build the walls themselves. Their sacrifice will not be forgotten. New technologies that were taken and discovered during the ‘madness’ contributed to the construction, but it was a bloody price.

Most of the materials were taken from ruins that were around, so there is currently a shortage of raw material.

But I will tell you the more precise details when the new console is built.

By the way are the beings beyond organized in any way or do they just exist in an anarchy beyond the city walls and starve or something?

I believe there must be someone out there trying to survive in this new world. The world is so big beyond the walls. There have been reconnaissance and reconnaissance missions that still work with the city’s military. There have been several accounts of survivors and refugees who, against all odds, managed to reach our walls. But with everything out there - anything can kill you there, even the earth itself, I say even luck is not enough.

But I’m willing to be surprised otherwise. I’ve never set foot outside the city walls. I am, after all, bound here as part of my purpose.

I was more talking about the spawned beings and not the survivors

I guess cults, aliens, and rogue AI fall into this category.

I guess if they’re still with them, there must be something holding them back. I don’t have enough information available to prove otherwise, but it’s very possible that some are very organized and have even formed colonies or something larger. But so far in the known area, we haven’t found any such evidence.

How far do we exactly “see” from the walls?

Even with the height and good visibility conditions of the caldera, the furthest recorded range is about 78.56 km, but visibility is usually about 20-25% of this range.

Besides the caldera are there any other notable landmarks around?

There are several mountain ranges not far from the caldera.
Also 2 volcanoes, but all dormant.
In addition, not far from the place, out of sight, there is a large lake, but of course, a dangerous journey.
There is also a large facility not far from there, probably haunted by aliens or some other semi-intelligent entity.

If the access to the wastelands was cut off, how long would the storages hold before no resources are left?
