Hi, the other day I came across a video about a simple simulation of natural selection using plants as an example. The mechanism seemed interesting to me and I want to submit this idea to the developers. I apologize in advance if something like this has already been discussed.
Surprisingly clear explanation for something where I can’t understand a word the guy is saying lol
I think the branching algorithm in the second video in particular would be very handy in producing things like, for example, plants, where not all members of a species would look the same.
The natural selection simulation seems pretty standard sexual reproduction simulation, which for reasons I’ve discussed elsewhere is something I don’t think would work for auto-evo. In this case, I’m going to guess that this evolution simulator actually works VERY quickly, but would quickly breed a lot of disconnected and ill-adapted species, but that’s a blind guess.
And yes, the author conducted artificial selection by editing the genome first manually and then mixing species. The reason is that it is impossible to determine which specimen should continue the lineage and which should not.
My business is to suggest, yours is to take the best and suitable, thanks for the reply.
