Yeah… But this time, I’ll (hopefully) make it last a bit.
Remember that if people don’t reply for enough time, you can ping them for them to cast their votes (be reasonable however, please).
Alright!
Formica jovis primigenus
Cyto at 0,0, 0,1, -1,0, 1,0, Hydrogenoplast at 0,-1
Metis condulus
Metabolosomes at 1,0, cyto at 0,0, magneto at -1,0, dark color
Nubes cellula
Same as metis condulus, but with the default color
Jovium aurora
Magneto at 0,1, metabolosome at 0,0, Dawn gave no name so I used jovium aurora for “jovian dawn”
It appears we can start, so let’s do it!
We now have 100 new EP to spend on our species, right?
Hydrogenoplast At 0,1
Hydrogenoplast At 0, 2
Also, The creature list doesn’t show my three extra Cytoplasm I mutated last round, only the one I started with?
how much cytoplasm can 1 metabolosome upkeep, and how many cilliate wings can it power?
I think it’s the same as DSL but nonquantum.
another magnetosynthesizer at 0,-1 and another metabolosome at 0,-2, putting me at 10 energy and 4 osmoregulation
also a suggestion i have for changing the name of the heliumoplast is helioplast, since helium is derived from helius, which is a latinization of helios, who is the ancient greek sun god
how much glucose does the metabolosome use per second?
In DSL it says:
“Materiosynthesizers
Like Cytoplasm, but better at converting. +5 energy production, -1 Q/s, 50 EP.
Gluonosynthesizers
Converts gluons into yummy quarks! +2 Osmoregulation, +1 Q/s, 50 EP.”
(Materio is metab, gluono is magneto)
Odd question:
You can get 5 cytoplasm for 100mp, producing 5 energy at no cost.
You can get a metablosome for 50mp, producing 5 energy, but It needs A quark. You can either use a Magnetosynthesizer, costing 50mp and using 2 energy (osmoregulation), or two Heliumoplasts, costing 100mp, and also taking 2 energy (osmoregulation). Either way, you only gain three energy for 100/150mp, but three energy from cytoplasm costs 60 MP. Then what is the purpose of Metablosomes, if cytoplasm produces more energy for less MP.
Tldr: Metablosomes are not useful, and neither are Magnetosynthesizers and Heliumoplasts, as they only fuel Metablosomes. You could probably balance it by giving cytoplasms either a 0.25 a small quark cost and buffing Magnetosynthesizers/Heliumoplasts/Metablosomes
Yeah, cytoplasm needs a cost for the energy it’s producing atleast.
You could argue you’re gathering glucose, but then Metablosomes should use less glucose, or the glucose sources should cost less energy. Or you could give cytoplasm a small Quark cost, and have the creatures find an amount of glucose each round to allow the starting single cytoplasm to survive.
Anyways I’m evolving metab at 1,1 and a magneto at -1, 1
I will evolve a Metabolosome at 0,-1, and a Magnetosynthesizer at 0,1. I think I am still symmetrical?
There used to be “cell previews” in DSL, but JaDT seems to have abandoned that…
Hmm. Let’s do a poll.
- Yes, I wanna see my beautiful creation!
- No, too many images will shut down the forums.
It’s anonymous, by the way.
How about after the end of every round (every four generations)?
You should consider removing non-latest species images, as that method will reduce the ammount of forum space taken over the duration of the FG.
Nobody has replied to this? I really expected some replies to this over my vacation… Oh well.
4 people submitted their votes now, who’s left?
