When the Powers were Bestowed
Round 1:
Location: Belgium
Original Time Period: Ediacaran – 602 +7 Million years ago
Shortly after the suddenly appearing meteor nearly wiped out all of the Lantian biota in the region, some organisms survived and gained super powers in the process. While there will be debate in the future eroded fossil record as to whether these organisms are plants, animals, or fungi, one thing is clear. Life on Earth will no longer be the same.
Lantianelle laevis
This tentative early metazoan looks like an elongated, conical vase. Being sessile, it gathers zooplankton using polyp-like paripars extensions. Using its power of Sensory Possession, this has allowed the organism to briefly control microscopic prey, giving a higher gathering rate of food.

Xinuiningella rara
This spindle looking organism has unknown affinity. This sessile organism gather zooplankton through strange, short extensions. Gaining the power of Pyrokinesis (Firebending), this strange organism is able to slightly warm up the water around it due to the tiny conjured fires being instantly quenched underwater, causing low frequency “hissing sounds” and giving the organism slightly better food gathering.

Spriggina floundersi
This organism appears to have segments, but with a glide symmetry rather than true bilateral symmetry, and does not have chitin. There are indications this organism may move, grazing the abundant microbial mats that cover the seafloor. It uses is power of Hyper-camo (Invisibility) to avoid potential detection by other Ediacaran organisms and gather more food.

Flabellophyton Mystificus
This conical, vase like organism might be mistaken for a colony of vertical algae. However, this early sessile metazoan can use its delicate and numerous extensions near the top of the vase-like opening for gathering microscopic organisms. With the power of Attraction Force, it has a higher gathering rate of food, and forms the densest packed colonies of any Ediacaran organism.

Vendoconularia triradiata
This trisymmetrical, conical organism has a primitive outer shell of phosphate minerals. Like many sessile feeders, it uses polypar-like extensions near the top of the organism for feeding on zooplankton and possible phytoplankton. It uses the power of Echolocation (Sonic Scream) to stun microscopic prey, with the emitted sounds causing this organism to be in located very sparse colonies, and avoided by other surviving Ediacarans.

Arborea elegans
This fractal, fern-like early animal has a glide symmetrical pattern different than of other Arborea. This sessile early animal passively gains nutrients from the water in its body and from ground via its “stem”. It has the power of Light Control, which could disrupt camouflage, and allows the organism to deflect the small amount of UV rays that make through the Twilight Zone of the ancient oceans.
