Soon enough, enough time has passed since certain a certain happening…
3 of us have adaptive immortality, so eventually we would either start an evolutionary arms race against the nanobots, or we would start being able to reprogram them
and also you’d have to do something horribly wrong to consume the entire planet with them
esp since they’d melt in contact with the mantle, unless they have a way to turn heat into electricity
They could still consume the whole surface/crust probably…
looks at active volcanoes
…ok, most of the crust then.
Will Yellowstone erupt in this FG?
If no one causes it to, no.
action 1: kill the griffin with my claws to extract its wishbone
action 2: use its wishbone to wish for 3 copies of sburb and give two of them to ember and lina
Are you sure you don’t want to ensure anyhow else you kill that thing without it escaping away?
Edit: @Centarian @Trappist-1e @domin2ktr
action 1: ask the genie (if the one i had belgium died, i made another one) to create a stable portal with a airlock on both sides connecting our apartment to the surface of Ceres
action 2: watch some homestuck dubs
When did you three get an apartment?
i think she meant the research box?
also
dream action: dream about blueprinting a structure to withstand the heat death as the last red dwarf slowly dies out, using my vast expertise in heat pumps
(and irl if i know a lot abt a subject im trying to do something with in a dream, my brain will make sure i do the thing im trying to do correctly, or that it doesn’t work until i do)
Wasn’t the computer box destroyed after the attack?
realistically, unless the thing that expanded the inside didn’t increase the thermal mass at all(which it most definitely should have), it would at most be scorched and dented, not destroyed, due to the energy it takes to change steel into a phase that’s malleable enough to break from an explosion that wouldn’t be strong enough to completely vaporize or pulverize our corpses
What if the thing was attacked from outside after being attacked from the inside?
thermal mass doesn’t care what side you add heat from, and the thing that expands the insides of stuff creates space and copies matter to fill the space that should be filled(which realistically means it probably has a star powering its matter creation, and that its probably using dark energy and some magical space belgiumery to keep the outside the same size)
and if it was from the outside it would’ve had an even harder time destroying it due to the strength of hundreds of pounds of steel at least being packed into the same space as 2 pounds of steel normally occupies
Oh, I thought if it was attacked from the outside it would be from the inside’s perspective like the attack had more force behind it…
that is the opposite of the case lol
if you compress your body to 1/2 the size(height and width and thickness) your muscles become 4x stronger per unit of surface area, and your mass stays the same, so you feel less pressure/heat from any and all things you could feel because all the force you can apply/have applied to you is concentrated to 1/4 the area, which for things that aren’t you, means only being able to apply 1/4 the force to you
I suppose the boxes magic prevents this from killing you for example?
it likely shrinks things that go in without affecting their mass, so an explosion from the outside wouldn’t be able to kill those inside easily
i didn’t die tho cause i was in my mindspace
