The microbe stage has a small possibility of requiring a revamp in 2031

Essentially if you didn’t know we are sending probes out to Europa to see potential alien life, these will reach Europa in about 5 1/2 years, however if we do find alien life(very unlikely) it would double our sample size and would force us to add new options based off what we know, there’s a very low chance but it’s still a possibility

We’d need to drill down to Europa’s subsurface layer to see if life is there even if an ocean is in place. It could very well be sterile even if it exists.

Don’t they first need to find a good place to land on Europa, since the surface is supposedly very spiky?

That too. Perhaps a fresh groove could prove to be a good location?

You know, if we discover ALIEN LIFE in a mere 6 years, I don’t think reworking thrive will be at the top of anyone’s bucket list. I mean, it will require doing, and may drive passion into the project, but uh, the general rest of the WORLD will be turned upside down, thrive flipping over will be an afterthought

The chances anything inhabits Europa are still rather low though… It’s connection with the sea floor could be nowhere to be seen, which’d deprive it of resources needed for life.
