YOO! I’m industrial! Watch out unpolluted atmosphere, I’m coming for you.
“destroy the atmosphere all you want, but please don’t pollute the water by drowning my people, they really hated the Americans after the Boston tea party, and you wouldn’t want to be on our enemy, we can kill and torture horribly. this isn’t a threat, but a warning, so be careful.”

Who misses the worm here?
I miss it, but I also miss those who died from the Boston tea party. those poor souls, they could have made fine tea, but instead, the Americans killed them!

Haha, no. Anyway welcome back, can I serve you some fresh and spicy thrive memes sir?
Haha, no.
I’ve been busy with a few projects. Care to hear?
Naturally, quite, of course, etc.
EDIT: I see you have changed your pfp again, lol.
Summary
I’ve been working on that alien invasion novel. I’ve read a lot of them, but most of them are cliché and never interested me. I decided to do something different with my novel. Credit to a friend of mine on Discord, he’s been a great help.
In the year 1954, in the midst of the Cold War. Umbrogian fleets enter the system while listening in on radio signals emanating from Earth’s surface. As is the standard for first-contact contingents, they begin deploying a spy satellite network to observe and catalogue surface structures. Surveillance equipment is landed in the form of small biological spy drones that are designed to mimic the characteristics of local insects.
The Umbruke gain a total understanding of the world’s capabilities during this time and a complete overview of how the civilisations across the world operate. The first strike of an Umbruke first-contact fleet is designed to dismantle civilisation in order to make the intelligent indigenous population easier to subdue. A coordinated orbital bombardment of military targets across the globe is followed by an advance invasion force to secure political, economic and industrially focused cities and towns with little regard for collateral damage. Gigantic Umbruke transport ships are used as weapons in their own right, crash landing directly into city centers before unloading their contingents of Umbruke soldiers. Any institutions considered to provide the highest benefits to societal cohesion are targeted and destroyed. The highest priority of these targets include government offices, water and sewerage treatment facilities, power generation stations, any form of motorised transportation, schools, hospitals and police and fire services.
All forms of electronic based communication are intercepted and modified for the maximum confusion and disruption at this time. 28,125,000 Human lives have been lost.
Once the world’s major population centers have been taken, the Umbruke begin landing supplies, vehicles and the bulk of their main invasion force. Umbrogian combat aircraft are used to hunt down and destroy the world’s naval assets and assist their ground forces in the annihilation of surviving native military and whatever armed civilian resistance can organise itself. 74,200,000 Human lives have been lost.
As the fighting continues, the Umbruke begin rounding up and enslaving vast numbers of Humans and transporting them to holding sites. Camps are built at these locations to contain and protect the new chattel. Vast Umbruke infrastructure projects are planned around these sites, and these new slaves are intended to be used as a cheap, disposable labour force to hasten their construction. In areas remote from large, concentrated local populations, small numbers of advanced ‘bio forms’ are released. These genetically engineered creatures have an animal intelligence with limited abilities to learn to follow basic commands. They are highly dangerous, omnivorous hunters, capable of sustaining themselves on native wild plant and animal life and breed rapidly. Genetically programmed instincts compel these creatures to harvest resources and carry them to Umbruke collection sites. 191,475,000 Humans live have been lost.
As the fighting ends, Umbrogian military presence on Earth is used to enslave the Human population far more effectively. Any of the population too weak to work effectively are butchered and used to feed the Umbruke and slave population until the first Umbruke farms can be established. The slaves are put to work cannibalising their towns and cities for resources while the Umbrogian fleets begin to land construction tools and machinery. Hundreds of thousands of vast new construction projects are begun by the Umbruke with the new slave labour. Power plants, strip mines, factories and transportation networks have their foundations started in and around the ruins of the cities that once belonged to the world’s native peoples. 422,625,000 Human lives have been lost.
The world’s forests and jungles are cut and burned to make way for endless fields of Umbrogian crops. Assembly begins on giant steel and glass enclosures to protect them from the outside environment. Countless factories and power stations spew acrid black smoke into the air, and vast pit mines span hundreds of miles, hollowing out resources needed to maintain this level of production. The enslaved native population is steadily worked to death to complete these projects as quickly as possible. The few remaining members of the Human species living outside Umbrogian control begin to hand themselves in as a last desperate bid to avoid falling prey to the vast swarms of bioforms that now live in the wilderness. All native land dwelling animals larger than a few dozen centimetres in length have become extinct. 1,936,350,000 Human lives have been lost.
The world is covered in sprawling industrial zones interspersed with impossible vast glass blisters full of strange Umbruke plant life. Radioactive waste and hazardous chemicals have poisoned the air, land and sea beyond any hope of recovery or repair. All naturally forming ice across the planet has melted as a runaway greenhouse effect has caused a drastic rise in average temperature. Sea levels have fallen far below their height before the Umbruke arrived, thanks to the temperature rise causing far more of the ocean to evaporate into the atmosphere, exposing large areas of the sea-bed and allowing its resources to be exploited more easily. Vast storms roll steadily across the world, wiping away the last of the crumbling remains of the previous civilisation. All native plant and animal life, with the exception of the world’s intelligent tool-using species, are now extinct. The last of the bio-forms roam the surface, hunting each other down after exhausting every other food source. From space, a once bright blue-green marble of a world is now a dull grey.
With the new Umbruke agriculture world complete, the few remaining members of the indigenous population are pulled from work duty. Their bodies are experimented on to find ways of better suiting the Umbruke’s needs in the future. Any last traces of free will are stripped away while their bodies are twisted beyond all recognition. 2,689,175,000 Human lives have been lost.
It’s been a long run, but nothing lasts forever.
It is quite a terrifying story.
Do you remember the Umbruke? They were an old Thrive post I made a while back.
Wait, were those the reptile creatures?
They’re a race of cybernetically and genetically enhanced fungoids. The love child of the Borg and the Combine.
EDIT: Have you played XCOM games?
Why? I’m just curious ya know.
No, I haven’t. Never been interested.
EDIT:
Don’t know. I’ve never been interested in XCOM.
Would you kindly look at my previous post? :-]
EDIT: Nevermind lol
Apart from the novel, what have you been doing lately?
I moved to an empty room downstairs and helped my dad make a new desk.
Cool. Well, you are more of an handyman than I am.
