I don’t develop discourse (the forum software used). The only thing I had a hand in creating here was tweaking the theme CSS and adding the badges for industrial etc. So if there is something wrong with discobot it is not my fault.
That’s the biggest issue with YouTube right now actually. They screw over their customers, and only when they accidentally piss of someone with enough of a following to actually get attention, they’ll fix the issue, but only for that specific person, while the issue will still continue to screw over smaller people. (For example, the copyright system is broken and constantly screws over smaller artists, and only when TheFatRat (a rather popular artist) got hit by it did people pay attention. YouTube then solved the issue for him and removed the copyright strike, and went on with their day, even though the system is still in place and keeps on screwing smaller artists.)
it looks like a tentacle creature with cameras on it, i guess it could be a spying/security device.
Is is possible to have a utopia? Every possible form of Utopia seems to be someone else’s dystopia.
Definition: An utopia is an ideal world that is not and will never be possible to achieve.
Utopia is different for different people
For example: One person might prefer nature. their utopia would be very little population, animals everywhere, etc.
Another might prefer huge skyscrapers and cities everywhere.
A utopia is more of an idea than a thing
edit: I am actually reading The Giver right now and it seems pretty ideal to me (except the lack of scientific advancement and animals)
Ok, I’m done talking about it.
Moving away from actual morals…
I’m taking the idea from @TeaKing and I’m making it a sort of biomechanical security device. The way I’m thinking it works is…
Extreme nerd out
Despite its appearance, it in itself is not intelligent. It is merely modified by the predominant intelligent species on its home planet. (This creature needs a name) This creature is blind, however it has an extraordinary sense of its surroundings (possibly vibrations). Taking advantage of this, the intelligent species mounts them on walls of buildings and straps cameras to their heads, which turn when they sense a presence. They are strapped down with loose cables, which are easily adjusted, due to the species not having any legs. These creatures are branded and sold all over the globe by breeders and manufacturers. I want to add a biological alert system on the creature but I’m not sure how to implement it, any ideas?
Anyway, if you want your suggested name forever branded to this creature just comment it!
may i ask, what is it’s size compared to humans? it seems big.
anyways, i’ll name it Lukre. what do you think?
I’m thinking it will be about the size of a large dog. It probably looks bigger because I angled the background like I did, I’ll try and change it.
I do like the name! Familiar but strange
i need to mention something, the intelligent species should make sure that the cameras aren’t as bad as our security cameras, or else they wouldn’t identify anything in it, hehe.
Perhaps a natural defense system of theirs is a secretion of a foul smell. The breeders might train them to secret the smelly substance when they desire, that way they can discreetly alarm them.
what do you mean by "biological alert system?
if you mean something that detects life, I would recommend a box with a 3 cameras (like iPhone 11 pro except protruding) on a separate tentacle thing.
@OoferDoofer I meant more like a biological function to show danger.
Very proud of this.
Me too.
I mean… It’s not Halloween anymore…
Something I’ve begun looking into is how people react to Satanism and anything else considered unholy. What I’ve found has disturbed me, otherwise rational people become extremely closed minded and refuse to here what I say or look at what I’m trying to show them the instant they see anything Satanic. YouTube videos about Satanism (mainly about The Satanic Temple) are bombarded by people telling them to repent or to just kill themselves which obviously shows that they didn’t watch the video talking about their secular nature and good intentions. What experiences have you guys had with Satanism and what reactions have you seen.
It’s hard to teach an old dog new tricks. People who grew up being taught that anything related to satan is bad will immediately stop listening to you as soon as you start to suggest that their opinion is wrong. Same goes for a lot of things.
It’s not even that, I can say “hey check out this thing Muslims do” or “check out this passage of the Torah” and they will look at it and are often fascinated. The second I pull something Satanic though it is instant shutdown. It’s hard to get my athiest friends to look at it too until I remind them that they are no longer obliged to follow religious ideals.
