I was trying not to reply, but seems like I have to…
What I said that I accept was the point about being able to melt low melting point metals (less than 400 degrees c) into simple tools. With this concession we can have underwater bronze age civilizations, we are far away from having feasible (ie. you can complete the game) underwater civs.
I don’t want to blame you but I feel like I just have to say that you seem to be misunderstanding many points made about the underwater civilizations topic.
Also please don’t discuss underwater civs in other threads
And you may notice that all the underwater threads are closed because I’m still waiting for someone to write a comprehensive explanation first because otherwise the discussion about underwater civs is just back and forth on the same points forever.

I’m waiting for the day the forum isn’t spammed with underwater civ threads which repeat and repeat the same damn points
Starting off, yes they are and I thought you would like mine cause they are crabs.
Now then, I wonder if a blind creature could become sentient and create advanced technology.

Yes but how would they know what metals to use or even know what metal is when they try mining. We can see the ore but they wouldn’t, or if they do mine ore how would they tell iron from copper or copper from gold.
