Then, I figured that because all the cables were too tight in my PC case, one of them must have collided with a fan. Fortunately, the screech stopped after I turned off the PC. I recently bought a Mini-ITX open frame case and transfered my components to it. Everything is fine for now. I just hope it doesn’t happen again; it was a traumatizing experience.

I think that’s why experienced builders use cable ties and talk about cable management to not have loose cables that can get into fans.
