I’m rarely this rude but this scam game has been exposed several people including The Spiffing Brit, Moisty, Muta, etc. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s the developer who reported me as I’ve seen review exposing them in Discord, bribing users to leave negative comments on people who expose his crap.

I’m not fully up to speed with the situation, but isn’t that kind of not a scam? It’s true that basically item speculators are the reason why it is blowing up. And the devs probably can make items / control supply of rare items. But isn’t that kind of any collectible thing that tries to be made really valuable? Also the whole thing wouldn’t be blowing up if there weren’t a bunch of kids hoping to make a few quick bucks after seeing the game skyrocket in popularity. Everyone else can hopefully see that participating in that thing is not really worth their time.
Basically it’s a scam if you think nfts are a scam. It’s barely profitable to most people, and extremely profitable for the friends of the people who made it. The reason speculation on things like assets (futures) and companies (stocks) is that the FTC or equivalent are trying their hardest to stomp out insider trading and will totally sue you if you run a Ponzi scheme. Additionally, being a legally regulated activit, it’s easy to keep kids out of.
I don’t actually think it’s very harmful in this case, aside from the political views of the people profiting from it, and that’s a personal thing. It doesn’t really matter that it’s more speculative than loot boxes bc it’s free to get into and anyone spending anything more than steam credit they happened to have on a free banana isn’t very smart, so I don’t mind, but yeah, I would say it’s a scam. Additionally, it’s not very fun.

I’ve also heard rumors that some of the game files give a positive scan on virustotal and that the developer bribed some of his discord followers into leaving negative comments on people who exposes them.

I’m also having the feeling that it might be the same dev who’s working behind Banana, Cucumber and EGG. The only exception is the cat clicker game, which I think is just trying to copypaste the formula.
P.S.: The dev might have also created bot accounts to build the hype and falsify game activity.

Anyways I’d hardly call it a scam. It’s more of… an open scheme. People give each other money for useless things that they know are useless and I get money from that.

That seems very low bar for evidence. Someone with actual virus handling experience should take a look and probably debunk that whole point.
