THE NEW Miscellaneous Talk That Doesn't Deserve A New Thread Thread Thread (Part 2)

Probably some random YouTube video back when all I did was watch astronomy related videos, a video discussing this guy must’ve slipped in my recommendations.

Sometimes I search for these videos in a playlist just for reliving that curiosity I used to have.

While 1.0.0 is now being brought up increasingly frequently, I’d like to ask, how do you people of Thrive think about 2.0.0 (the update to complete the multicellular stage) being planned to release somewhen either in Q4 2026 or Q1 2027?

I think it’s pretty amazing how fast everything is going. I remember 1.0.0 seemingly being an impossible milestone when I first joined the community, and now it’s relatively close! I bet the community is going to explode In popularity once the microbe stage is done.
Even though I wonder what features would be included for the “multicellular” stage to be considered done, imo, it’s way too early to think about that.

I can guess that early multicellular will take significantll less time than late multicellular to finish. Perhaps it’ll be 6 months for EM and 12 months for LM…

(I’m aware now, yay)

IDK, it all depends on a ton of factors. long term time-frames for Thrive aren’t usually right anyways.
But, that’s probably a best case scenario if the 1.0.0+ releases were to grow the community and Patreon / game sales.

I wonder how much would Thrive use getting a second full-time developer…

Is it me or are the forums a bit quieter than usual…? I have never been active here anyways so I may be misremembering but I picture them being more active for some reason.

Edit: ah, another reason could be the holiday seasons too… Forgot about that for a minute

I guess they are somewhat quiet for the period just after a release…

Most of the time it was just confusion topped with a mocking attitude, but on one occasion, an old tipsy man wanted to touch me (), to, I guess, prove to me that I have nothing to be afraid (?) and thus I don’t need to wear a facemask… While he didn’t end up touching me, as I fervently refused his offer (at least he had the decency to ask me if I would allow him to touch me), this experience left me in what I’m not sure how to describe other than feeling violated. Now, even after almost a year since then, I still can feel this hard to pinpoint disgust mixed with anxiety, frustration and helplessness whenever I think about this situation too much.

I wonder just how many news will pop up for 1.0.0 release…

Gamingonlinux is just a based website, that’s why they noticed. Also I saw that article too.

Happy Thrivemas!

I wonder what will be the haters’ arguments after 1.0.0 release…

Almost certainly “you took so long and I still found a bug! If you took this long your supporters should have gotten something perfect!” among other things. Of course the haters tend not to make good supporters but yk, they need some kind of a point to make.

Crazy to think that just 2 years ago we only entered 0.6.0, which was the beginning of the roadmap plan…

Looks like people now think that Thrive will release not so far in the future afterall…

They will switch to calculating how long the full game will take and incorrectly assume that Thrive started development in 2010.

Not to mention that development speed’s been accelerating
