Yesterday, YouTube started this annoying popup window to tell me to deactivate my adblocker (uBlock Origin). It doesn’t stop me from closing the window, though. But still, it’s annoying.

if there is an ad at the beginning of a video, you can click another video on the right. it would have an ad on the beginning as well, but when you go back to the previous page, the video would start without an ad

Every time that happens (it happens a lot) it’s fixed within a day. If it isn’t you could reload stuff or wait or, uh, switch to Firefox. On chromium it sometimes works weird I think.

Given the unpredictability of when COVID-19 will be eradicated or the adequate measures described above will be developed, our protective practices (assuming that’s what you’re referring to) are likely going to stay indefinitely. TBH, at this point, even if COVID-19 was eradicated, I think I would continue doing stuff like cleaning groceries. The idea of putting dirty things, that were standing on dirty store shelves, free to be sneezed at, coughed at and touched by the long-unwashed hands of hundreds, if not thousands of people, any of whom could be transmitting a dangerous illness with the potential to completely wreck my life, into cupboards, without prior cleaning, is simply disgusting to me now.

we obviously need to normalize wearing masks, as in, just treat it as a normal thing. Assume folks are sick or have lung issues and just move on with your day. If most sick folks wear masks, it’ll slow down most diseases.

Couldn’t agree more. On a side note: I, personally, had several negative encounters with anti-maskers who decided to loudly criticise my mask-wearing choices completely unprompted.

On a side note: I, personally, had several negative encounters with anti-maskers who decided to loudly criticise my mask-wearing choices completely unprompted.

I hope this was your only negative experience with anti-maskers. It is unfortunate that some people take their tribalism way too far.

I concur. From my own person experience with allergies, I am surprised that I did not wear a mask more often earlier. It really helps! Ragweed pollen is absolutely terrible.

Ragweed pollen is absolutely terrible.

Makes sense masks would help, I haven’t really done much on purpose about ragweed, but I might try that if I’m all allergied up.
