Heterotrophs often have a problem with glucose deficiency, especially at the multicellular stage. Eating prey simply does not provide enough glucose to sustain the predator.

I recall from playing in 0.8.2 that ingested cells only seem to give much glucose up to a certain point, after which the glucose intake from these engulfed cells drops rapidly.

It seems to me that perhaps the point is that my body was clogged with not fully digested cells that did not provide glucose, but at the same time clogged up space in the absorbent cells.

There has been the “eject all engulfed objects” option present around for a while now…

I think the heterothroph glucose problem has broader causes than just this.
Also not sure what exactly could be done about this at this development stage…
