True, but I was just saying if you had armor thick enough it could still get vaporized but your main body would be safe, versus not having any armor at all.
Generally you are right, especially in a nonfiction setting, but this setting is very fictional and so it is possible, even if it’s not at all likely

Main body probably still wouldn’t be safe. If your armour was close enough to get vaporized, then your body would be close enough to become char-broiled from the heat of touching said vaporizing armour. I don’t think medical terminology even has a term for the degree of those burns. lol
Imagine you had an arrow, and you wanted to kill something by penetrating its heart. Assuming the arrow always penetrates six inches deep, and the heart is an inch from the surface of a creature, if it had no armor to five inches of armor, the heart would still be pierced. But with thick enough armor - in this case, minimum of six inches - even though the armor is penetrated the main creature is safe.
I’m not saying this is applicable to every circumstance or anything, but that’s generally what I was saying.
Anyway that wasn’t meant to be a serious comment but I figured I may as well explain a little bit of reasoning lol.
Edit: wrote this before the heat argument had appeared, if something can withstand heat it’s not applicable but again, in the vast majority of circumstances, you would be correct

Ah. That definitely makes more sense in a ballistic scenario like that, yeah.
Though for the heat edit, it’s still applicable in a nuclear instance, regardless of extremophilia, if the temperature is enough to change the phase of their matter, that’s not good, fam.
All resistances have their limits, and generally there are things in the universe that exist beyond them. Like nuclear blasts/stars in the case of heat and energy, meteor impacts for resistance to being hit/pierced/crushed, etc. Like Qui-gon said, “there’s always a bigger fish.”
Hope this doesn’t die again, this seems like it will be really fun.
Anyway, other than Frale and Zenzone is anyone joining the xenophobic alliance? I want to know who to watch out for.
Obviously me, Centarian, and Willow are not a part of it due to being non-majority sapients. JSpino also said they would largely be peaceful. I know Knowledge is planning to go on a conquering spree, but I am unsure as to what extent this would go, and whether or not he would ally with the xenophobes.
Anyone else want to help me figure out how to draw the battle lines?
In case you guys didn’t see in my other game thread, I’m back and thinking of writing some more. I always loved helping worldbuild with you guys even if I totally stalled on the actual publishing. If you guys want I’m going to start another game from scratch that will incorporate elements of my other games. Lmk if you want to join or have any recommendations
