I do hope we get a mode that allows more direct control over everything so it can be used to create spec evo projects or see what a desired planets ecosystem may be like

Theoretically, Ascension will have more direct control over things, that that is quite some time away.

I think some kind of a god mode might be added already in aware or maybe even macro for this ecosystem tweaking purpose

That is one of my hopes for a reward upon ascending for the first time. Also I may bug the programmers to make a god mode earlier on so I can have more control over a single game to show ingame footage of my spec evo creatures than having to use a lot of single games where I can’t control the adaptations done to the other species.
