Xenoia Psychology

The species known as “Xenoiazrillak’Drekjiona”, or “Xenoia” for short, have evolved to be heavily oriented towards socialbility, more so than humans. This is theoretically due to predatorial threats that may or may not exist currently. Either way, they are still a highly sociable species. It has been observed that if a Xenoia is placed in an environment of which they are isolated, they quickly develop a sort of extreme depression which can easily kill the creature. Reports show that the individual can die as early as 20 hours after developing said condition.
However, like humans, this species is also prone to developing mental disorders, some of which are more extreme than others. The two most notable disorders are SPD (Solitary Preference Disorder) and ASD (Attention Seeking Disorder) (Note-ASD is not related to Autism Spectrum Disorder in any way, and is not meant as a mockery/parody of autistic people.). SPD makes the creature want to lead a solitary lifestyle, and often leads to death at a young age as they develop the fatal conditions any member of the species would develop without social contact. In contrast, ASD makes the individual crave social contact more than the average Xenoia, so much so that they develop the fatal “depression” and die from it much sooner. Both of these disorders are caused by incorrect brain development, though autopsy reports suggest that the brain structure does not deviate much.

Technology
Horazyala

Computing

Horazyala’s computing technology is spectacularly advanced, especially in military use. The military use computers to catalogue an ever-updating status report on every individual soldier, from their vitals to their current location and objective (if they have any). This amount of data shows the sheer processing power and data storage of Horazyalan computers. The military also use computers to run simulations of battles, identify and exploit weaknesses in both buildings and vehicles and relay 3D models of surrounding environments to Officers. In civilian use, computers are most often used to either research or for entertainment programs.

Laser-based weaponry

Horazyala’s laser technology is one of the most remarkable aspects of its military, with all weapons (excluding explosives) featuring some form of lasers. In guns, lasers range from rapid-fire pistols equipped by generals and medics to heavy, long ranged laser rifles equipped by snipers which can easily tear through most metal alloys. In vehicles, turrets, whether autonomous or manned, have a remarkable firing rate. Tanks and artillery use ridiculously powerful heavy lasers, which plow through basically anything except dense rocks, which they usually wouldn’t be attempting to shoot through anyway. Naval vessels, particularly Warships, use similar cannons to tanks and artillery, except slightly less powerful. Aircraft use comparatively weak laser beams. There are two flaws to the laser technology- they overheat often and they use an extreme amount of power to fire, which Horazyalan scientists are currently trying to resolve by finding a power source that can sustain such powerful weaponry. Horazyala is also nearing plasma-based weaponry.

HUDs and PDAs

The Horazyalan military makes vast use of HUDs in their armour designs, with every soldier having a HUD outfitted within their helmets to assist them. Generals use HUDs to monitor combat situations, and to relay objectives. A general’s combat HUD (which show vitals and weapon status) are for emergency situations only. Generals also have PDAs, which show the vitals and status of every soldier in the army. Officers see a similar use for the HUD, in that they see the vitals and status of every soldier in their division/group, except they also always see their vitals and weapon status. Engineers have PDAs which display the plans for fortifications in the area, and their HUDs scan and display which fortification is which when they are undeployed. Medic HUDs show high-priority healing targets and the vitals of every soldier in sight, as well as their own vitals and weapon status. Sniper HUDs provide aim assistance, along with their weapon status and vitals. Infantry only get their weapon status and vitals. Outside of military use, HUDs are used by surgeons and builders, and they can otherwise be purchased along with a suitable helmet for 500 miraks. Purchased HUDs can be customised and can have many programs installed onto them, from entertainment programs to research programs. Because of this, HUDs are banned in schools. PDAs are used by politicians, doctors and teachers, and can be purchased for 500 miraks. Purchased PDAs are almost identical to HUDs, save for how they function.

Inalyia

Warships

Inalyia has had Warships for nearly 4 centuries now. Warships are massive naval vessels that feature a ridiculous amount of turrets and cannons all over the ship, and see frequent use within the HIGR navy. In their skirmishes against pirates, they have displayed extreme efficiency at destroying enemy ships, with most skirmishes lasting 3-4 minutes once the first shot has been fired. While they are efficient, they are far from perfect. They move at extremely slow speeds due to a combination of their heavy weaponry and armour and a neglected engine. In fact, they are so heavy it’s a miracle that they don’t just sink like rocks. They also suffer from similar problems to Horazyala’s laser weapons, where they take up a ridiculous amount of power and overheat frequently. Extreme efforts are being made by Inalyian scientists to counteract these issues. Inalyia is also pushing efforts for spacefaring Warships, which are yet to be approved.

Creature: Ijor

Home planet: Jaron

Diet: Carnivorous

Niche: Apex predator

Biome: Tropical jungle

Lifespan: 15-25

Biological description: Ijor have a long, slender body. They are distant cousins of the Jre, and therefore have a millipede-like body. They have a proboscis-like beak, used to suck vital juices. On the end of their tail, they have a venomous stinger. They have an extremely flexible, segmented exoskeleton, allowing them to easily climb in trees. In addition, they have short, insect-like feet which also allow them to climb up the bark of trees. On their head, they have four small, jelly-like eyes. They are usually 5 meters long, and half a meter wide and tall. However, longer specimens have been found, and the exact limit of their size is as of yet unknown.

Summary

Ijor on a treebranch, by Biologicalwhatever

Ijor in relation to human, by Biologicalwhatever

Behaviour: Ijor spend most of their lives in the trees of their native jungles. Most of the time, they will simply lay on a branch and wait for prey to pass by. If prey does pass beneath them, they will lower their tail and sting the unfortunate individual. Then, the Ijor will follow its prey until it collapses from the Ijor’s venom. After this, they will lower their head, and suck the vital juices of their prey with their proboscis. Then, they will rest again on their branch. An Ijor only needs to eat about every 5 earth months, the rest of the time they will mostly lie dormant.

Reproduction: Ijor reproduce with eggs, which are fertilised outside of the body.

Mating and lifecycle: Once the mating season has started, a female Ijor will lay an egg on a bigger branch. The egg is covered in a sticky substance, allowing it to hang on their branches in most situations. In addition, this substance spreads a scent that attracts male Ijor. Once a male Ijor finds the egg, it will inseminate it. The male will also carry it down to a bush. Only a month after, the egg will hatch. Ijor start their life as small and vulnerable creatures. They will hunt smaller animals in the safety of the jungles bushes. This is their only defense against predators, as juvenile Ijor are about the size of a rat. After about 3 earth years, the Ijor will have grown to the size of 3 meters, and they will leave their bushes in favour of the branches of the jungle. Here, they will mainly hunt other small arboreal creatures. After a further 2 years, they will have attained their adult size of 5 meters. They will then live their cosy lives as apex predators in the treetops, until they die.

Extinction threat level: Least concern

Creature: Kor’Va
Home planet: Tall’Perka
Diet: Carnivorous
Niche: Apex predator
Biome: Tropical Jungle
Lifespan: 5-8 human years.
Biological Description: The Kor’Va exist in many shapes and forms thanks to their very special ability to incorporate DNA of creatures they eat into their reproductive organs. But the shape most Kor’Va share is a panther like head and body with four eyes. They are considered Pre-Sapient. Their tails end in venomous stingers and they have claws that could shred up creatures with even the hardest exoskeletons.
They stand at about 3 foot tall and about 6 foot long.

Behaviour: The Kor’Va almost never rests and even if it does it only closes one set of eyes so that it can at least react when a threat arrives. But luckily for them they almost never get attacked as they are by far stronger then any other predator on there. The main cause of them not becoming a plague is that they often miscarry. Something that based on observation triggers a sad feeling in the creature.

Reproduction: They produce a litter of kittens about 4-6 little creatures. They are pregnant for about 3 months until the kids are born. Both the Male and Female keep watch over the kittens until they are smart and old enough to fend for themselves in the wild.

All of the above are ok to go in the TU. Let me know when you’ve made the pages.

Creature: Anak’ Leboris

Planet of origin: Amora

System of Origin: Amoor’ Ak

Diet: Omnivorous

Eating Habits: Primarily Carnivorous but can digest local flora if unable to find prey.

Habitat: Cliffs and steep mountainsides

Average Lifespan: 25 ~ 35 Planetary orbits (approximately 30 ~ 45 Earth years)

Biology and Physiology: While not the strongest or fastest predator on Amora, the Anak’ Leboris has extremely good eyesight and an intellegence that rivals primative humans. With vision that would put an eagle’s to shame, the Anak’ Leboris can spot even the slightest movement from 6 km (3.73 Miles) away. Anak’ Leboris has up to a 3 meter (10 ft) wingspan and a torso length of up to 2 meters (6.56 ft). They have long tails with a large spade shaped tip that they use to help make sudden turns in the air. Their long snouts house dozens of razor sharp teeth in the front and 8 larger teeth in the rear designed to break up bone and other hard objects. They have 2 sets of eys, the main set is about 48 millimeters (about 2 inches) big (twice the size of the human eye) and face forward, while the other set is only about 20 millimeters (about 0.78 inches) and are place slightly above and to the sides of the main set. Due to their ability to see at such a long distance, the main set of eyes has a very limited field of view. The second set is not able to see in detail but has a very large field of view and is used primarily when attemtping to fly through tight spaces. It has bat-like wings with a hooked claw at the top that helps Anak’ Leboris hold on to the steep cliffs in likes to hunt from. Large talons on each foot are designed to both help hold on to cliff faces as well as to rip into larger prey. Typically weighing 10 ~ 12 kgs (22 ~ 26.5 lb) the Anak’ Leborisis is capable of hunting prey over twice it’s weight solo and can even take down prey that is over 10 times it’s weight when hunting in a pack.

Behavior: The species makes colossal community nests on cliff faces that last for hundreds of generations. Anak’ Leboris will hunt both as a pack or by themselves depending on what prey is most available to them. Hunting pack sizes consist of 3 ~ 5 members and is their prefered method of hunting. When taking on prey much larger than themselves the pack leader will draw the attention of the prey while the other members attack any weak spots they can find and repeatedly rip at it untell the animal dies of bloodloss. Anak’ Leboris tend to get along with each other and will even bring back the remains of their kills to the nest to help feed their young. Both the males and females watch over the young and take turns hunting. Packs can consist of both male and female adult Anak’ Leboris as well as the occasional youngster learning how to hunt in a pack. Anak’ Leboris do not migrate nor do they hibernate in winter, instead they make their nest insulated and food is stored inside to be used as reserves by the community throughout the winter. They still actively hunt in the winter but normally not in packs and are less active than during the warmer seasons.

Reproduction: Female Anak’ Leboris lay eggs bi-monthly regardless of fertilization by a male Anak’ Leboris. The unfertilized egg is consumed by the female if food supplies are low. Anak’ Leboris reproduce in large community wide orgies that consist of every Anak’ Leboris that is able to reproduce at the time. Anak’ Leboris hatch 3 months after they are layed and reach sexual maturity at age 5 for females and 8 for males.

I thought republics meant there was no monarchy or aristocracy. Unless they pulled a Netherlands and turned a repeatedly elected elite into a genuine aristocracy, neglecting to change the name.

You would be correct.
Probably a simple mistake on Keomais’ part.

Sorry, I’m not too good at this stuff. But, I will continue work on my submission and will fact-check.

I have deleted that, and I made the Kanu’thra in a tribal state, so i’ll start there, since I don’t know much about how the other stuff would work.

Anyways, could you help on how the Kanu’thra could establish a thriving empire in the later stages?

What do you mean ‘thriving empire’ and ‘later stages’?

I’m not sure, I wrote that reply at 1 in the morning. I’m only trying to create a intelligent race with a unique story and design. I’ll be changing some things in the post for it to be accurate or have a more understandable origin.

@RoboRomb and @Askyw, you can both make your pages if you wish. Let me know when they are ready.

Just from looking at the life cycle, these guys seem quite unfit to survive. It seems they try to have a low-maintanence r-selection life, but they only make two offspring. Usually bugs lay hundreds of eggs. In addition, their physical maturity is two times longer than a human. This would imply that they would have a long state of helplessness (even longer than human childhood), and with only two offspring, a predator could easily eat those offspring.
We also tend to shy away from non-carbon biochemistry, because we have no real-world framework except carbon, which reacts in a completely different manner.
Otherwise, your species is just incredibly simple, with no defining attributes except they are very predatory. We don’t even know what they look like.

An orkimasooni with features of both female and male is shown above

Orkimasooni
Their origin is the fourth planet(Lakvitas) in the Holar star system, in the North-West Inner Core of The Galaxy.
While they are not the strongest or fastest species on the planet, the Orkimasooni are able to hide from predators and lure smaller animals(like fish, and herbivores) into their traps, and kill them there.
Their carnivore diet consists mainly of Mountain Pigs, and Okmits, however they also eat fish(if they catch any).
An average Orkimasooni is about 3 centimetres(1.1 inch) shorter than an average adult human, since their planet’s gravity is a bit higher than Earth’s.
Since the Agricultural Revolution, their teeth drastically shrunk, but the hair(used by males to attract females) has grown.
Their toxin ejection systems are below the stabilisation(small) leg, and the sexual organs in between the legs.
The usual process of reproduction involves a male touching the reproduction system of a female, however other methods have been observed
The females are pregnant for 2 months, and the newborn orkimasooni exits through the toxin ejection organ(toxin ejection stops a day before the birth, and it is the reason why giving birth is painful)
The baby’s teeth develop fully 1 week after birth, and they reach their physical and sexual maturity at 2 years.
Their laws prohibit murder, however they encourage the “show of force”(only for males), a fistfight, which is seen as a “gentlemen” way of solving conflicts.
Their art is mostly literature and sculptures, paintings are seen as “inferior” to poems and novels.
They had an all-out nuclear war, which turned their homeworld in a burning desert with no resourses. Colonists still visit it, through.
Currently they are in the first stage of interstellar expansion, and use basic Alcubierre Drives to travel in space.

How do they use these hairs to attract mates? Do they use different colors, and based on what color it is will the mate be more attracted to it?

Based on what I see, being carnivorous may differ from being non-aggressive? Many species of Earth are omnivorous, and are quite successful. Not trying to hate, i’m just genuinely curious on the biology of your species.

I think it works like tropical birds here on earth. The brighter the hair on the male the more likely a female is to mate with said male.

That’s very likely. Maybe color can vary on the Orkimasooni. Whatever color appeals to the mate, the likely it is the female to have intercourse with the male.

The brighter the color, the more likely a male is going to attract a female.
Sometimes smell is also used to attract females.

I am not sure what that means, but orkimasooni are not that agressive, they only eat small animals, and don’t harm aliens.
The nuclear war happened because of a miscalculation in a trajectory of a rocket that was aimed at the sea, but exploded in a city.

Planet: Palkalin

Sapient Species: Skomuus

Planet Details: Light atmosphere consisting of mainly the same makeup of Earths air, but a tiny bit more oxygen within it. Iron rich crust, with a dense mantle. Has about three fourths Earths gravity, giving it taller, thinner creatures. Has a dominant algae that gives areas of oceans a redish color. The poles are a bit misaligned and tilted from the geographic poles. Is the fourth planet from its sun, its neighbor being a Mars-like planet called Kevon. Has three moons, each being about the size of Alaska in terms of land mass.

Species Details: Reptilian creatures with slim body scructure similar to that of a walking stick, having four legs and a set of arms a bit behind from the front legs. Has a beak similar to hawks, two eyes near it, and a feather on top of the head unique to males used for mating. Hands partially webbed and shapped for scooping. Eats minerals that give them a orangish yellow color. Has crusty, stiff wings used for short gliding and nothing else. Carries its eggs on the knees of the front legs, carried by the females. Omnivores that mainly eat grainy plants and occasionaly scavenge for meat. Live with families with the oldest male leading them, leading social lives with the group. They communicate through written language and deep grunts and clicks. They live to be about 80 earth years, and usually matures at 17 years.

Technology: Technology rivaling that of ours, recently getting to terraforming Kevon. Has organized cities with public transportation similar to subways. Has androids assisting families and doing most housework. Has no need for economy and shares its resources for no charge throughout the globe. Has an online network system used for entertainment and communication.

Government: It is a democracy leading the planet, with large states being governed by smaller rulers like governers. The laws consist of courts that trial lawbreakers, with the harshest punishments being banishment for life or hard labor. Laws prohibit murder, property damage, theft, and hoarding large amounts of resources. The law allows freedom of speech and religion, along with minimal labor if the citizen wishes to do so.

Evolutionary History: The Skomuus evolved from a race of small beaked creatures relatively small compared to other creatures on the planet. Major climate changes encouraged the species to turn reptilian and be warm blooded. The slow rotation of the planet encouraged migration to shady areas often, and hearty eating to stay warm at night. Low gravity allowed them to use wings for gliding, with light bones to gain more airtime. Their size, despite having low gravity, are quite small, only reaching a length of 2.4 meters, and height of 1.9 meters, most likely to increase gliding time and their ability to run quicker. Their wingspan increased gradually, with their final size averaging 3 meters long.

Culture: The architecture varies in different areas, but mainly consist of elevated houses and sturdy, large buildings used for residence, storage, and supply buildings. Residential design has houses consist of usually one floor, and sometimes roofs that open and close. It also usually has tree-like design as Skomuus prefer elevated areas to live in, whether it be on hills, in trees, cliffs, etc. They enjoy playing and watching games that include racing, a soccer-like game, and timed gliding.

I hope this one doesnt seem empty compared you guy’s submissions, and i might add on to this overtime.

EDITS: Changed the evolutionary inconsistencies of insects turning into reptiles, and changed that to just unspecified beaked creatures. Changed the planet’s mantle density to fit with the iron rich crust. also removed “bipedal” from the androids and just called them androids.
These changes were made from pointers from @Askyw, thanks dude! Also added culture info.

Another edit: some art of a male Skomuus made by @jellyfishmon, epic thanks to him!

Iron is a heavy element so in order for the crust to be rich in it the mantle has to be denser.

I doubt that these moons would have enough mass to even become spherical.

My main question is why? This species would think that it’s own shape would be the most suited for an android just the same as we humans think that humanoid androids are the best shape. Is there another species on the planet that made them think to go with the bipedal design? Bipedal things are extremely hard to make work and I think that it wouldn’t be very valuable for this species, who has made its civilization directly for their own body type, to put all that effort into making something walk on two legs.

No. Just. No. This evolutionary path would mean that the species went from having an exoskeliton to having an internal one wilst also rapidly increasing in size and becoming warm blooded, all of which would be extremely costly to evolve and would take Billions with a B of years to complete all the changes.

Other than those nitpicks I think this was great and I look forward to seeing more added on.
