Today I learned that the largest waterfall in the world is under water. In the ocean.

Today I learned that the two hemispheres of the brain can function independently when separated.

Iโ€™ve known that for a while now (I found the same video). Kinda weird when you think about it. Science actually suggests that the two hemispheres are more like the โ€œI knowโ€ and โ€œI want to knowโ€ halves of the brain (With the latter being mute on itโ€™s own) instead of the โ€œcreativeโ€ and โ€œanalyticalโ€.

TIL chainsaws were originally invented to help with childbirth by cutting out a part of a womanโ€™s pelvic bone.

dont worry, chainsaws arnt hurting trees.
we just use them to cut out their pelvic bone to assist the birthing process of a tree.

TIL the first city to reach a population of 100000 was Baghdad in the 800s/early 900s. it dropped below 1 million though. the second city was Beijing, in the 1800s. thats a 1000 year gap. im confused.
