Graphene may be suitable for a space elevator, whether there will be a space elevator at the sub-light space stage depends on whether mass production of graphene will be available before sci-fi technologies. However, this does not apply to other types of space elevator (such as loftstrom loops, orbital rings, mass accelerators, etc., as they use active support).

Are you sure graphene could actually hold against the immense forces such a cable would experience?
