Posting here before hyllainer put the funni padlock emoji in the title
Same, in some universe im sure its possible, its just obsurdly outlandish
So here is how we’ve discussed getting metal:
Breed bone tools.
Chemical Smelting.
Trade with a land civ.
Magma Smelting.
Hydrothermal vents.
Uplifted by space civ.
Amphibious civ.
And that’s what has been discussed so far. Any new ideas?
starting from the river, having more access to land
like be theses bois here = metel
So have the civ live in a wide river or such, therefore having more access to land?
yep
maybe they might want to get some land bugs because, say, they’ve hunted all the fish, so they need to develop land tools, eventually they’ll discover fire
the rest I don’t know
Use reverse transcriptase to do biotechnology.
And use neurons for making computers instead of microchips. Is there a technology that absolutely needs metals?
Just for clarity to people who do not remember or did not see it, here’s how long the underwater talk is banned:
