People in the stone age didnโt have enough technology to progress tech at a fast rate.
After the industrial revolution it changed though.
Then now during the digital age we are seeing changes to society happening within decades.
This is essentially what the singularity is.

Well infinite growth isnโt possible in a system with finite resources. There is a wall, and probably not that far, to be hit head on by such exponency.
Eventually weโll going to get to the point where vast technological changes happen every second, or itโll start slowing down again, after all the universe had new laws appearing in less than a second so itโs possible as we go further in time advancement could start slowing down
