unreal is the worst engine ever. it is pretty, but at every cost imaginable. Though, i have actually looked into it, there are plenty of well optimized unreal games! as an example, valorant runs surprisingly well and looks decent, itโs justโฆ not worth playing. I read a paper on some of the rendering techniques riot was using on the game and it looks like real developer effort went into optimizations and finagling the engine to do what needed doing on lots of hardware. It also lacks all that raytracing and directX 12 ultimate bs, as well as nanite, which is allegedly an optimization trick, and is in reality an inordinately expensive and underperformant way to make your LOD models look worse than just using blenderโs decimate and baking it. in real time. because real time is faster than baking or something idfk.

yes and no. it has a rootkit installed to make sure you donโt have hacks. I havenโt heard anything scary about the shear amount of data it sends to the servers, so i assume it isnโt too bad, but the real reason to avoid it is that A: riot games could choose to receive a dump of all your passwords and personal files at any time and youโd be cooked and B: if the programmers at riot games are in any way fallible (and they most certainly are), then a hacker could choose to do the same thing.

mcdonalds pokemon cards never went above the more common ones anyways. I had like 10 of each gen 1 starter.
