[Videos] The Worst Humanity Has to Offer

Will epic do anything about this or are they rooted too deeply in the handout practice?

i would prefer epic die or get sold to a better company. steamโ€™s real competition should be GoG, give GoG market share

Probably the latter.

Internet guideโ€™s number one point should be to not trust everything on the net

If I ever get rich enough, you can bet Iโ€™d buy Epic. Iโ€™d probably delete EGS, but would let its users redeem all of their games on other platforms. Iโ€™d also put the stolen games back on Steam (e.g. Rocket League).

if im rich enough to buy epic im rich enough to save hundreds of thousands of human lives. friendly reminder all vanity projects by rich people, all activist investing, and every billionaire is the consequence of someone choosing to let people suffer and die.

Maybe the scenarioโ€™s wording shouldโ€™ve been โ€œif you could but epic games AND canโ€™t spend the money on anything elseโ€โ€ฆ

Even if youโ€™d save people, there are probably some you still couldnโ€™t possibly save. You canโ€™t save everyone and honestly itโ€™s their money. Itโ€™s their choice how to spend their money.

You can still maximize how many people you can save with the money, no?

Yeah, and most billionaires donโ€™t even choose to do that

Because their goal is to keep money, using it is a secondary thing

iโ€™m not saying everyone, im saying elon musk asked the UN to come up with a plan for how to use 6 billion dollars to end world hunger, they did within record time, and then he stopped talking about it and put six billion in a tax avoidance shelter. Im saying every billionaire sat with 900 million and thought to themselves โ€œdo i put my newest hundred million into an investment portfolio so i make more money, or well, i dont need more, i could try and fix a problem in the worldโ€

im not even saying it should be illegal to choose to get to a billion, maybe thatโ€™s what you want. I just think every single person you meet should glare and you and openly discuss what might be wrong with you and spit in your drink when serving it to you, same as if you, say, had just tripped a pregnant woman on the way in and offered to help her up, and then let go while picking her up and blew tobacco smoke in her face and laughed. perfectly legal unless someone can prove you tripped her on purpose, most of us donโ€™t do that because weโ€™d like strangers to not think weโ€™re horrible people. Being that rich is seen as being successful, it should be seen as a radical expression of greed and self-centeredness. I think we can and should hold people who have great power to higher standards, especially when, unlike spiderman or the other analogies to great power we have in fiction, they can give up all of that power easily.

precisely. The only way to become a billionaire is to have โ€œget more moneyโ€ as a more important goal than using it, saving lives, etc.

So kind of like this speech from Wall Street?

I wonder if these people realize furthering the trench between them and the folk on the poorer side will only lead to conflict in the end

weโ€™ve been having this conflict since the first merchant bought their way into the noble class, probably 3-5 thousand years ago. it has boiled over into violence many times.

What has a beginning, even if so long ago, must also have an end

Yes, but who knows when that end will come, in a few years, in a few thousand years, maybe itโ€™ll go with civillization itself, which will make it basically endless as far as weโ€™re concerned

i mean so does humanity, heck, maybe one day everyone who isnโ€™t so rich they donโ€™t work under our morality will be replaced by robots that are easier to exploit. doesnโ€™t make me too hopeful.

If so we have to act for the ladder to fall down
