Weird bug that makes nothing but user interface show up

(Image Related)
I don’t know why but any time I load into the game I just can’t see anything but the GUI/UI and sometime particles. Is this an issue with the game or my computer? Does anyone know of any ways to resolve this in the meantime? (I’m on steam if that changes anything)

P.S. I don’t know if the image is embedded correct.

Fix (Thanks to aah31415): If you’re experiencing the same issue, select exit to launcher if you’re on steam then go into settings and force OpenGL on launch and it should work.

You might need to switch your game to the OpenGL rendering mode instead of Vulcan as I am rather sure this is a visuals thing.

How would I do this exactly? Is it in the options menu or outside the game entirely? (My GPU is AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT if that means anything)

Also thanx for the welcome

In the thrive options tab of launcher settings there is the option to force OpenGL rendering mode.

Thank you! This actually worked. I know Thrive is pretty niche, but I couldn’t find anything anywhere else. You are a lifesaver!

While using OpenGL mode can workaround the issue, that has its own non-optimal visual look compared to the intended one.

Because you said:

You should try updating to the latest AMD drivers. That should allow you to turn off the OpenGL mode and play the game with the fully intended visuals.

Hopefully that helps.

As some more context: a couple of months ago AMD released a new driver version that broke all Godot Engine games, which is the engine Thrive uses. And it took them until a couple of weeks ago to revert their mistake and release a new driver version that fixes all Godot Games. We get quite many bug reports related to this so I hope that sometime soon everyone will have updated their drivers and no longer runs into this problem.

I know this topic is a tad dated but this came up in my google search and I figured it might help someone down the line.

While AMD did release a new driver, 25.9.2, which fixed this issue for me, Adrenalin was telling me that 25.9.1 was up to date when it wasn’t. Manually installing 25.9.2 from AMD’s website fixed this issue for me, but it’s weird that AMD’s own software wasn’t pushing the update to me, when my GPU is listed as compatible on AMD’s website

I thought GPUs (or was it their drivers) are generally updated manually?
