I’ve had this question lingering around since I joined the forums. Can my curiosity finally by satisfied by a answer?
This probably could have been asked in the miscellaneous talk thread, but it does exactly what it sounds like. It invites someone to become a user on the forums.

Some other person might see this thread if they try to write a new thread asking the same question. In the misc thread probably no one else would really have their future question about the feature answered. As new users probably don’t go reading backwards thousands of posts there.
Besides, the misc thread gets replies very quickly, so it would take a longer time to find. I was thinking about the misc thread, but then I realized that as well as the fact it may take longer for people to notice the question.
