im sure both of these will occur eventually- but what if after a few generations with binding agents, auto evo will push a species into multicellular- along with that other species binding agents should work so the player could see some small cell groupings emerge then break up,
also what if the requirement to become multicellular is to form a colony of increasing scale and maintain it for a certain period of time for like 5 generations until the player is allowed to become multicellular (maybe like gen1: 3 cells for 15 secs, gen2: 5 cells for 20 secs gen3: 7 cells for 25 secs, gen4: 9 cells for 30 secs, gen5: 15 cells for 1 minute), and the binding agents would cap at that cell count per gen, the player will also get ammonia/phosphate but cannot reproduce unless they disband the colony, and maybe once multicellular is reached, the 2 other starting cells will be placed at a random position and orientation on the main cell

I am pretty sure this is being implemented atm actually
Also the devs do play for there to be a timed requirement with being bound to other cells to enter multicellular but itβs supposed to be a one or two time thing
it is? i have never seen it, every time ive had runs with multicell species they have only been direct descendants of me or direct descendants of another which is a direct descendant of me
ah that makes sense

Yeah because itβs being done for a future version, not 1.6
This feels too short of a time frame. For a Eukaryote organism of at least 15-20, a Eukaryotic organism with normal membrane would take from four-and-a-half to six minutes to reproduce passively, since it takes 30 seconds for a single hex of cytoplasm to reproduce passively. Plus, the world would get flooded with Multicellular organisms if the time is too short. Also, not everyone enables Auto-Evo to run while playing for performance/computer hardware reasons. Finally, as I have stated in another thread, it would be more cumbersome to have a time requirement for slowly attaching cells in Microbe, as the gameplay circumstances like being near a lot of predators could prevent long term maintenance of such a growth requirement; it would be better to have a time requirement at the end after getting all cells, rather than as your go along collecting cells.

It does still run after you press the editor button tho right?
If Multicellular count becomes capped, that would take away some peopleβs challenge of trying to make larger and larger cell count Multicellular creatures (I donβt do this, but I might try it the next time I play).
