Will you be updating this each release?

basically, maybe 1-3 days after the release

Why have you decided to undertake this?

ever since i was a kid, i had a fascination with the development or evolution of games. i used to do this as a child by setting all the options to the minimum graphics and getting on the emptiest level, so it was an “early version” of a game, then “progressed through better and later versions and updates”. then i started making it in minecraft, where i actually had actual old versions, but when i discovered Thrive, it started again. So i mainly did this changelog for personal use, when im again traversing from 0.0.1 to 1.1.0, and since i have this in my notepad, i can open it anytime and see what changed in that version, so i can explore Thrive’s history!

I think someone should catalogue the forum’s history at some point aswell

I would do that, however I don’t really know much about the forum’s history other than the big secrets and the other general stuff that you learn before you even make an account, so I would need a bit more information, which I’m sure do exist, considering that some people that are still active on the forum have been around for many years, and as such know some major or even minor events that took place in the history of the forums.

I think the best way to learn its history’d be to read old threads

yeah so does anybody know how can i launch them? When i try to launch them with the launcher or from the files, it just shows the Thrive logo for a second and then instantly close

Check this out.

I presume you’ll be updating the 1st post and not making new posts for new versions, right @Mr.Pukilar ?

yeah dw there wont be millions of posts

You can actually view almost the entire patch notes history directly inside Thrive. The patch notes viewer in the options menu let’s you go all the way back to 0.2.3 and from there to the latest release (1.1.0 at the time of writing).

I suppose we could use adding the oldest of releases to there at some point

Whoa, i didn’t know that, thanks! This is more of a project for fun, and is not expected to be taken like actual Thrive media (but it is thrive themed!).

I understand you will still continue the project, right?

yeah today i wanna go atleast to 0.5.6
