"zombie" motionless cells who cannot be engulfed and don't seem to die appear

Do they appear or do they zombify when you eject them?

ejection i think, but there are some on the map that are not created by me, i assume they are also there because of being ejected from other cells?

This is very likely related to the other reports of cells just being there and not doing anything. The cause of the cells not doing anything is that the cells are marked dead, but have been incorrectly just left there without despawning.

There’s a workaround found here:

But a proper fix will take some more time to be made.
