On the steam version a very rare bug I encountered is that sometimes you can bind cells and the bound cell doesn’t stick (wow such a rare bug) but the twist to it is that you can’t unbind it with U so you are stuck with it on you and the only way to get rid of it is to press the kill button in the corner, where when I pressed it, the game crashed.
Do you happen to have the logs from when that happened? You can press the open logs folder button in the options menu to view them. I think the last 5 or 6 game logs are kept so if you have restarted the game less than that many times, the log file should still exist.
