Crusaders of the stars: Have your empire focus on attacking other empires above anything else if their system of faith doesn’t align with your own one.
2012: Happen to be hit by natural disasters so powerful you get set back to a previous stage (if you’re in awakening/society/industrial/early space stage)
It is impossible to move from the awakening stage to the aware stage, since this requires the biological degradation of the species to an unreasonable state.
Hh right. It should be from society/industrial/early space to some earlier stage (like from early space to industrial or industrial to awakening for example).
The brain requires a lot of power. Imagine the environment becomes such that finding food isn’t based on intelligence. For example, luck. Imagine there isn’t much food though. You’ll be more successful conserving power. Obviously the top priority isn’t loosing brains, but you know, such a scenario could exist. Awakening creatures aren’t necessarily on an inevitable trajectory towards civilization, but playing that long to evolve isn’t a fun idea + no reason for the game to support it.
I wonder if it will be possible to go back to aware if you are an underwater sapient…
Don’t you need to die to win that award?
I believe I can fly: Jump off a cliff high enough that your entire Healthbar is drained from the impact into the ground below, while not being a creature capable of flight.
You can also lose fertility in a dumb way to win that.
Oh I see, I thought it required the “winner” to die, didn’t know there was an another way to earn it…
The Ig-Nobel of Darwin:
You managed to get through the entire game, with your creature drunk from multiple toxins (it’s hard to maintain control when you’re evolutionarily drunk)
That its not black:
You thought it was a black hole, but you made a terrible mistake (you discovered the Gravastar)
That’d probably also count as a challenge
“He hurt himself in confusion”
“Its super effective”
“more drunk”
Ah yes, runoff drunkness. Even more of a challenge to go thru…
Chopfyt: After progressing beyond the need for biological bodies, encounter an empire with a significant population of your original species
Tik-Tok: Create an AI system without electronic computers
Are we sure this is realisticly possible? How advanced would such an AI need to be to complete this achievement?
They didn’t say advanced or anything vague like that, they said electronic. For example, optical computing, or MEMS for mechanical computers that aren’t horrid, or molecular computing. Final, cheating, option: using biological neurons, like an artificial brain. There ae options, the best tech all uses electricity, but some reasonably performant stuff doesn’t always need it.
Oh, I see, I thought it’d require a mechanical AI or something.
Unseen God: After ascending, immedietly descend without doing anything else
If photonic computers are not considered electronic, then this is not only possible, but also more likely than the emergence of electronic artificial intelligence.
They rose too close to the Sun: After ascending, devolve the closest to ascension species/civ back into a single cytoplasm.
