If you die in a stage, you go to the previous stage. Dying in microbe terminates the playthrough.

while this feature was being implemented the devs decided it was pretty much required to simulate everything from the ground up with accurate quantum physics. however, this needed a ton of dev work, and some of it had to be done by physicists and math people who aren’t great at programming, so thrive got ported to pygame so everyone could just write in python and get ideas into the game quickly. Thrive now never goes over 0.00000000001 FPS when you’re past the atomic stage
