Browser/Flash Games

the don’t escape series is a really good point and click if that’s what you’re into.

I know a really good flash strategy and it’s called antichristum. Basically age of war.

There’s this short game called my friend pedro. I know there’s a new version on steam, but the original is still pretty nice and has a very funny boss.

Staying on topic, a game on coolmath.com called last horizon was small. But I like the design and simplicity of the game.

i also liked that game.

IIRC due to people mass-deleting posts like these, making a post purely to delete it is against the rules.

Oh ok, sorry bout that.

yeah np, it was one of those things which happened at the start of this forum, like mass-liking posts to get the badges.

Honestly, I feel like badges that encourage mass-liking and other undesirable behaviour should just be removed.

Havel your guns heared od game series decision
It’s basiclly a shooter for flash but it is topdown and there is even a fantasy styled spin off.

Browser support for Adobe Flash isn’t long for this world, so it’s a good idea to save the SWF (“Small Web Format”) files flash games are stored as for personal use.

If you’re using Windows, and have Google Chrome installed, one thing you can do is right click on a page with a flash game, select “View Page Source,” and use CTRL+F to look for the link with the extension “.swf”. You can do this without enabling Flash. Once you have the SWF file, you can simply use Windows Media Player to play it, although it won’t accept keyboard commands (there’s probably some other software out there that can do that).

To get you started, there’s a really old Spore fan game called “Microbe Arena” people made in preparation for it coming out. I think it’s the last remnant of an entire fan site made in anticipation of the game, with its own Spore-based comic series and everything.

Here’s the only site I can find where the SWF file for the game can be downloaded directly (sometimes, there’s no link to save, or it’s embedded in a JavaScript file, which Windows Media Player can’t open): https://www.to14.com/game.php?id=4d486a4f60dc4

Since you’re taking the SWF file out of the webpage itself, I’m assuming you can do this even after browser support for Adobe Flash ends. However, I can’t say how long the flash game sites themselves will stay up.

Happy hunting!

Kongregate also suggests getting SuperNova SWF Enabler, I myself find it really useful.

It’s a good game, but Question 5 is weird. If you choose “Agree”, it increases authoritarianism but that quality disappears when it comes to “Strongly Agree”. Any logic explanation?

Also, I learnt that it’s better ti avoid most issues, lol.

haha, it doesn’t even exist lol

this was literally more than a freaking year ago, its gone now

I really enjoy an idle game called evolve. You start as a single member of a species and have to work your way up the technology tree until eventually becoming an interstellar empire.
It’s time consuming and may seem boring at first, but I’ll drop a link anyways

I have a question of political nature related to both real life and the nationstates game.

What would be the best of both worlds between democratic socialism (not communism) and capitalism? Is there such an ideology? What is it called?

Nice game @Hirohito, btw.

Answer it and you will have solved politics.

I was browsing the Youtube channel of Nookrium (who makes videos about little-known games), and found this: https://drtardigrade.itch.io/worldhistorysim

It is a game called “Worlds” that is meant to be a history simulator. It lacks much content (it is only in version 0.3), but it has huge potential. The world generation alone was enough to make me excited. This is not a browser or flash game, but it is a free download from Itchio. I think my fellow Thrive enthusiasts may find it intriguing. Note, however, that the game seems to gobble computer resources quite severely. My computer could not run any other programs during it and needed about 10 minutes after exiting to become useable again.
