Actually this week I lowered the macroscopic requirement to 15 cells. So in the next release players can already enter macroscopic with just 15 cells (and not need 20 as 20 cells is starting to be really pushing it what the microbe stage can technically handle).
So the Macroscopic requirement has finally been changed! Hopefully, the smaller amount of cells will improve Multicellular performance and Multicellular Auto-Evo performance.

Obviously the best solution is to flip the player back and forth between Multicellular and Macroscopic environments if the juvenile is too small.
This sounds very interesting. It think it would make the transition between Multicellular and Macroscopic even better.
Eating other macroscopic things would of course come later, but thatβs not something for the tiny starting organisms. And even then, you can take virtual βbitesβ out of something larger than yourself. I would even call it a required feature, for example for eating leaves from a tree.
Or something smaller than oneself once jaws/biting are unlocked.
Hereβs some ideas I had so far:
- Ultimate Colony: grow a colony of 20 cells
- Ultimate Cellular Firepower: shoot 10 toxin projectiles at once
- something about speed with actomyosin or average speed of fast for a colony?
- Specialized Weapons: having a cell type with a lot of spikes or toxins when other cells in the body plan donβt have (much) offensive means
- Maybe an achievement about how costly it is to still want to swap membranes in multicellular?
- Just a flesh wound: lose x% of your body but still successfully regrow and enter the editor
- In look of a home: travel a long distance as a spore
- Microscopic birds and bees: successfully use sexual reproduction in the multicellular stage
- Perfectly Packed: make a colony of 10 cells with no hex gaps at all in the full layout
These sound really good. I wonder if the dev team will search through the Achievements thread to take community suggested Multicellular achievements?
