I suppose the developers really took care in the names field to prevent any youtuber scares from occuring.

We do not have any post filtering on the generated names. And so far nobody has ever seen a naughty generated name for a species. So the careful picking of the name parts by us has worked in preventing the name generation system from generating naughty names.

Exactly. And throwing in hundreds of new name parts from patrons without a lot of manual curation will most likely cause bad names to appear every now and then. (So we would need to add like a post processing filter to retry name generation if it ends up making a bad name, but that would be quite a big new system to have to make).

I suppose having the patreonsโ€™ names be in the credits isnโ€™t that much of an issue instead, considering the other mean of integrating theirโ€™s names would be too much to ask for. Itโ€™s still a great deal to be mentioned in the gameโ€™s creditage, isnโ€™t it?

Supporters already get their names in the credits. All 3 tiers.

I donโ€™t think I intended to sound like theyโ€™re not already included?

I donโ€™t remember if the following idea was discussed before. What do you think about allowing other cell colonies of your species to bind to your colony using binding agent?

I think thatโ€™d be for the microbe stage binding agent, not multicellular stage

Nobody has yet implemented the ability to enter binding mode for the AI cellsโ€ฆ

Is that a necessary feature or something that can be skipped like the few pre-1.0.0 that got left unsolved?

Itโ€™s been already skipped, Iโ€™m just highlighting how once again a feature the player has is still not usable by the AI despite being years and years old.

I mean itโ€™s not like this one feature is required for AI to know for the game to be playable or make a good/immersive experience

Well, wouldnโ€™t that depend on if the AI needed it to become multicellular the way the player does? Multicellularity evolved a bunch of times. There could be another way of doing that, but, based on earlier talks of having an option that the AI can pass you, I am thinking that the AI is suppose to eventually be able to evolve to multicellularity without the player needing to beat them to it, which might (or might not) require the Binding Agent.

I donโ€™t think this would require the binding agent having this sort of functionality when on screen

It is my understanding it has no functionality at all on or off screen except to help the player change stages. So how will the AI evolve from Single Celled to Multicellular if not through use of the Binding Agent?

Couldnโ€™t it just have an incentive (a pressure) to evolve it and then some chance to use it to become multicellular, without it really having a good purpose for it?

Are we supposed to have AIs that advance to the next stage before player?

Yes but it should be done in such a way that player has a good shot at beating them to it

Something I had a limited success with before for the Microbe Stage is to have rotation speed affect auto-evo, making at least the organelle suggestion sometimes suggest the placement of Cilia.

It works sometimes, but unfortunately most of the time it still prioritises placing autotrophic parts on your predator.

So even Auto-Evo prefers Predatory Plants?

It does give more miche points I guess if that happens. Mixotrophs arenโ€™t apparently a problem to begin with though.

Yes, I am working on the specifics, but I think it would be to have some specific features. For example, looking at reality, having a cell type specialised to producing offspring. Having a certain number of cell of different types and a required adjacency bonus also makes sense to me.

A kind of โ€œminimum complexityโ€, I suppose.

I like the idea of a โ€œminimum complexityโ€ for Multicellular, with a minimum number of different cell types with a minimum amount of adjacency bonus and minimum number of total cells. Would it be better for Auto-Evo if there was at least two different cell types, in additional to the Stem Cell, still making the requirement have three different cell types? Also, perhaps the minimum cell number should be at least 7 cells in total, since that is the number of cells in Myxozoans[1]?
