I think that might be too little, is this assuming we can never get mutlicellular autoevo to work properly?

To be clear, I said 5 cell types (4 new Cell Types and Stem Cell), not total cell number. 15 total cells seems like a good number.

I think the devs said 3 would be a good number?

Does this include or exclude the original Stem Cell type?

I think it would be inclusive of that. Of course the cell types should be actually distinct too

This reminds me of the conversation we had about a Soil system in biomes. Sometimes 3 (or more) simpler systems is easier than 1 complicated system. One system to handle Bio Processes, a second system to handle Storage, and a third for handling Flagellum, Turning Cilia, and Suction Cilia. Perhaps a forth, or even fifth, would be needed for odds and ends, but you could likely get the majority done fairly quickly and with relatively little work. Faster improvements would attract more sales and devs sooner, making it even easier to deal wit the odds and ends.

Would we want some extra system(s) for the nonlawk stuff?

You’re still missing the critical part I also mentioned in the thread: the interaction between these. If these are three separately operating systems, a cell can be perfectly specialised to a metabolic process, storage and a movement type at the same time. That breaks the point of the system and does not correspond to what we see in real life biology.

There needs to be a unifying system behind all of these, even though the bonuses apply to different things.

I don’t quite see how? Non-lawk stuff is just disabled with the setting, but they operate under the same.

Can systems be interconnected while still staying distinct?

Of course, they just need an additional system to connect them all.

Would this still be simpler than having one big complex system for it all?

Let’s put it this way.

Logically, I can think of how to try to implement what I proposed: starting from the organelle ratios to apply various modifiers to other systems.

But if you first make a system looking directly at the processes, and then start looking how to make metabolic specialisation mutually exclusive with specialising in flagella (the latter I also cannot imagine how to make a system for), I currently cannot think of any way to do that other than going back to my original idea and looking at the organelle ratios again.

And fairly sure we’ll need to start looking at those ratios soon considering they are already becoming a crucial step for multicellular stage design, not to mention what will become of them later on.

One fun change would be if the toxin cell parts were made to match the colour of their selected toxin.

Yes! I hope this happens eventually! Would this be included in 1.0.1, or another update like 1.1.X?

If toxins were to impact cell color like that would that put thylakoid/chloroplast color impact in our range?

To be clear, that was just a suggestion. Nobody has said they will actually do that.

The suggestion was for the toxin upgrades to have different colours. Right now thylakoids and chloroplasts don’t have upgrades to begin with.

Would the toxisome/vacuole variants be different models or the same model but colorshifted?

Like orange for Ammonia, purple for Phosphate, e.t.c, for vacuoles?

I don’t think these are toxins

I was suggesting these colors for the vacuole variants.
