Could 2 religions completely merge into 1?
I just wanted to clarify some things. Historically, Buddha went to china because adherents of Hinduism did not like the changes Buddha made; this does not mean all Buddhists are peaceful. I was shocked to learn that the Rohingya crises was first instigated by racist Buddhist monks before the military started its policy (link). Also, the renewed hatred against Muslims is not something new in India. Not all Indians liked being under the Mughal rule for 200 years (Persecution of Indians).
Considering how greedy people are, would there be a possibility of a religion that only worhips money as a god/goddess?
I think that should be possible, but fairly rare, since I donβt think it ever happened historically but I donβt see why it should be impossible in theory.
Oh definitely, I donβt know too much about pagan/religions with multiple gods, but I know that Carthage for example had a few gods that directly reflect their culture.
Also good clarification, I was saying such in relativity, which doesnβt mean much without stating it wasnβt really violence free.
I think OG hellenism and OG roman mythology got pretty close to achieving that
Hellenism and roman mythology exchanged and copied many ideas off of each other that they technically (if given more time) couldβve evolved into the same faith. Also worth noting that a lot of mythological faiths copied off of each other frequently, Romans and Greeks just did much more often.
By the way, would βanimismβ count as one religion in the game or would each culture get itβs own version of it?
Definitely not the same one, for the same reason it wonβt just be called βmythologyβ but maybe a bit of generalizing wouldnβt hurt, just for performance sake.
Would neopaganism be a thing in the game as some kind of a modern movement?
Sure as hell sounds good to me.
Maybe some movements should be satirical like certain branches of satanism or the spaghetti monster thing?
movements are basically asking for change in some way, revolutionaries? they want a revolution! independence movement? they want independence! religious movement? they want change in their faith/ the way faith is handled in their society! but a satirical movement isnβt really trying to achieve anything, and if they are itβs probably not worth representing in the grand scheme of things.
So for instance would the clippy movement be even worth representing in the game or should stuff like it rather be put aside?
Hmmmβ¦So it is possible that Players could create a religion worshiping Clippy?
Of course⦠if they manage to convince those of the older religions.
I wonder how many religions will pop up in games where the Player is worships liked a higher being?
So like simulation theory cults or something?
To put it into words, if the history of humanity was to be simulated perfectly and a book to be written about such a simulation of 1000 pages, do you think the clippy movement would deserve a word let alone a page? It just doesnβt seem worth the hassle, or at least not be that specific.
Oh and customizing the philosophy of religion would probably not be allowed on a normal run, but I suppose it can be made a game rule to allow it if someone would want to create their own religion or something.
Maybe that game rule would be ON in the hard difficulty?
I was thinking on easy, since it gives the player more control, but maybe it shouldnβt be difficulty related in the first place.
Right. Should there be religion presets in the game for Earth-like religions?
