Thrive is a pretty big game with a lot of the discussions on this forum talking about it’s development. I image there’s got to have been at least one developer over the years who has gone on to make a popular game.
I’m pretty sure there hasn’t been such a thing happening. The only other games I know that past and present Thrive developers have released on Steam are The Four Colour Theorem and Atoms and Time. Neither of those games is really popular at all.
I moved this to the not thrive category as this is a pretty random small question that doesn’t really have any good answer other than “no.” Thrive isn’t that big yet, and good game developers are quite unlikely to offer their time for free (if only we had more money to hire a big development team of professionals) to develop Thrive so that makes this extremely unlikely.
Well, yes, but no.
Oliver lugg has an somewhat reasonably large YouTube channel, some of his videos have millions of views, and he was an thrive developer. I don’t know if that fits an criteria of famous anymore in this information era, but thats the closest we get of it.
In another hand, no one in this forum has made an popular game, as far my knowledge goes. Heck, even thrive is a niche underground-y thing (by now, i expected to when awake stage starts to take form, there will be an boom in popularity.)
Yes, me.
You may be famous… but not as famous as Fralegend the wizard of evil. They are responsible for the infamous ghost according to themselves afterall.
@Oliveriver liveriver is probably the most famous son of Thrive because of that well done video; the game itself became a lot more famous because of it. Though off of t the endless avalanche of pings on Discord and other pieces of media, Hh is probably the most famous.
I recall that one of QuantumCrab’s videos has managed to pass over 1 million views. Would that fit into the category of “famous people related to thrive”?
I wouldn’t count that. A lot of unknown people may have one video with a million views.
I wouldn’t say that QuantumCrab is an unkown person, they have the status of a Developer here afterall.
I’m pretty sure this thread is about people who are famous outside Thrive.
Now as I looked into it, Oliver’s most popular video has currently 4.5 M views, Whilst QC’s has 3.7 M. Since I think it is agreed that Oliver is a popular person by that, does QC count or not?
I thought you meant as in these random people who make a Thrive Forum account for one moment and then they never come back after that.
You should instead count how many videos each have with over one million views (or maybe it would be fairer to count more than a few hundred thousand views in this case).
One random 1.5m success is worse than a lot of multi hundred thousand view videos imo
I do agree, but still since we are counting the people who really were to this forum, I’m pretty sure that QC will still be the second, even if a distant one.
