Very happy to see that forum culture hasn’t entirely died off.
I’m already starting to get my tool-chain ready to put my mind to work. I’m not a programmer (by choice), but I think process-management is still useful .
Welcome to the forum!
Remember not to doublepost.
WELCOME!!!
Glad u have coming to say hello in our humble forum!
Not so many make intro threads anymore… So each time that happens it’s greatly appreciated.
I’m in a state between prime and geezer…
Still lamenting the die-out of forums. Discord is a nice tool to outsource more or less meaningless chatter out of permanency which it really doesn’t need.
Currently reading up on stuff I’ve been far too long out of school of to remember correctly… I love games that do this to me
But one thing I do remember is the endoplasmic reticulum and I am contemplating why it comes as default with the nucleus in the current release, whether it can be separated and what functions/benefits it can serve game-wise…
Man… so much stuff
Fairly sure it comes with nucleous because otherwise it’d just elongate the duration of the microbe stage considerably, so it was decided a long time ago now that it would be better off alongside nucleous.
Welcome to the Forum
By the way, have you heard of the thrive community discord server?
I came here from DC
Oh I see. Hopefully more will follow in your path into the future then.
Welcome! Its good to have more people interested in theorizing about the gameplay. It is important to remember though that we are getting quite close to the end of the Microbe stage roadmap (Release Roadmap - Thrive Developer Wiki), so we are less likely to do any major revamps of the Microbe stage. Us finishing the Microbe stage this year won’t mean that we stop all development of it, it just means that our focus will be moving to the Multicellular stage. This is an example of a recent thread that resulted in a change in the game: An iron thread.
Is there any particular stage you are most interested in? While the microbe stage is the current focus, we will ‘soon’ be switching to focus on the Multicellular stage with the release of 1.0. And Macroscopic stage is not too far away either. Discussion of the later Awakening, Society, Industrial, and Space stages is also always interesting as well, though it will still be a while before we are able to focus development on them.
These posts might be useful as well from the Dev forums:
You mean by the point awakening is more like the “strategy stages” rather than “evolution stages proper”?
I imagine that the actual developing (and programming) involved with the awakening stage is going to be most similar to the macroscopic-aware stages and will build off it quite naturally. I was really meaning more that the macroscopic-aware stages will likely take up the most development time, and so we will focus on those for longer than the other stages because of how core it will be to the final vision of Thrive.
Welcome to the forums, @MrSweetO! I hope you have a great time here .
I assume so. We should also focus on them as they’re closer to us than the strategy stages.
Welcome, @MrSweetO!
What part of the forum culture has changed?
That it has declined in size/popularity I presume they meant.
I think he meant that forums in general have declined, not talking about ours specifically.
Forums have been mostly replaced by “groups” and “servers” nowadays, but some remain loyal to the forum form.
Welcome! Little late (hey that’s alliteration), but go crazy! Also, this is the first time I have ever touched the introductions category, as I did not make an introduction page when I first joined.
