i think types of sci fi technology and non sci fi technology should be unlocked or disabled before a game by the player. and if it is possible to discover, ai should be able to unlock it just like the player.

I thought so to, but @hhyyrylainen believes it would be easier to put a warning in the research options, and delaying the AI from the galactic stage until the player starts it.

That’s true, but the critical difference here is that we can just spend 10 minutes adding a popup warning when researching the first scifi tech, which the player can just use to decline researching it. So it takes basically no effort to limit someone to early space stage.
