What the type of endosymbiotic relationships i can do with?

It could perhaps not be so useful…

Then I will try to do endosymbiosis for the hydrogenosome unless doom has a chemical weapon again, I’ve learnt to respect that.

Can we know how long will those endosymbioses take?

The same things as aah31415,

but you can also get Proteorhopsoplast from endosymbosis of aah31415…

Probably 4 FG turns, if all things go well.

Well I have some doubts all of us, if any, survive until the symbiosis finishes then…

I think i will do
join me, we will rule that world (if the GM will not do something)

I mean it’s not like being an endosymbiont to someone else harms me, right?

One of the successful ones is an endosymbiote, so I can say that it can contribute to success if we survive together (ask the mitochondria and chloroplast)

It also gives me a niche I suppose…

Turn 20

Turn 20 Summary:

975 Million Years after the formation of the Phyade I system, life continues to Thrive on the world of Treerilia. The Panspermium Tribe Clade (or Thrivium Phylum Clade if continuing from Phase I) diversified into two distinct groups. One group is capable of utilizing Hydrogen Sulfide, the other cannot. Perhaps it is mere coincidence, then, of how the remaining organisms became divided into this new phase for the Treerilia-Xanrillon-mini-Xoruta planetary system.

This new phase mirrors what sapient Geologists of the future will find in the rocks, finding Eoshadow Era of the Shadow Eon nears its end. The deep forces within the planet continue to churn the Mantle, and with it, the Ultramafic Aluminum-depleted Komatiite (ADK), Aluminum-undepleted Komatiite (AUK), and Aluminum-enriched Komatiite (AEK) crust. Granitic Eruptions continue at a slightly less pace (29% chance), as vertical Drip Tectonics starts to slow down. Horizontal Plastic Tectonics has now become the dominant Tectonic regime, having shifted and combined primordial continental fragments created by Drip Tectonics.

While the Banana Biome survived the onslaught of combining with other primordial continent fragments due to Plastic Tectonics, other biomes were not so lucky. The Cablevenian, which has been a stable land formation for several hundred Million years, no longer exists. Gone is the Cablevenian Estuary, crushed by inconceivable forces of Quadrillion tonnes of rock to become the Olaitic landmass. Still very small compared to the larger continents that would be found a couple of Billion years from this point of time. The Unovaskysian Oceanic biomes still remain, but they are now completely separated from where the Rikystasean biomes used to exist. Like the Cablevenian, the Rikystasean became combined with new tiny landmasses, becoming the Gorkonramic landmass.

The change to Treerilia is even more drastic. Whereas the organisms used to be located in adjacent biomes, they are now located on the opposite sides of Treerilia. The organisms that survived the drastic sundering are now separated by three oceans: the Lecarenese, the Mosbobasese, and the Karmaric. The climate has become slightly cooler, cold enough for the Lecarenese to freeze over. Remaining Oxygen from the previous phase of life still lingers, having been become more diffuse over the surface.

This Oxygen has consequences for the world. Life in the previous time could not tolerate relatively high levels (~16%) of Oxygen. Although this is even more pronounced with the new form of life being Anoxic and reliant on Hydrogenase, the world is now affected by this Oxygen as well. The remaining Oxygen has begun to react with Hydrogen Sulfide, slowly causing it to diminish. Perhaps over Millions, or Billions, of years, it may disappear completely.

But one does not need to wait Billions of years to see immediate effects on life. Hydrogen Sulfide, which used to be undamaging toward life, now acts like a strong acid and does considerable damage to organisms without Chemosynthesizing Proteins. Hydrogenase and other ATP generating organelles have become less efficient. And on top of this, increasing amounts of debris from more vigorous Tectonic activity and weathering now fill Biomes, creating additional hurdles for life to survive. While no Ph and Salt Shock occurs as a result of this weathering (0.906), even more challenges to life have begun to emerge.

One of these additional challenges came from part of the Submoon Xoruta crashes into Treerilia, The Submoon, which was an ejected piece of the Pluto-sized dwarf planet that was crashed into Treerilia over 250 Million Years ago, managed to carry an organism from Treerilia into space. That organism was Tao cannibali (Subspecies 8). The Submoon had gathered enough Water, Ammonia, and Carbon Dioxide ice on its surface over Millions of years in its orbit around Phyade I to form Tholins, which helped to sustain Tao cannibali underneath the ices. Over a couple hundred Million years, descendants of the cannibalistic organism evolved to become more parasitic, losing cellular processes until they became a virus. It basically became a microbial Uno Reverse Card; instead of being eaten by other thing, it β€œeats” the organisms that β€œeat” it. A Virus (literally β€œpoison” in Greek).

10% chance for one hex organism to evolve Viruses. 10% chance for an organism to become infect from Viruses during the middle of the turn, and is independent for all organisms at the end of every turn. 90% of the 10% chance the cell will die, 9% for the cell to become cannibalistic for the next turn and then die, and 1% chance for the cell to become immune along with its possible descendants.

Sapient scientists of the future will debate when this other form of life began, or whether Viruses can be considered as life at all. Three main hypotheses exist, with all three having evidence for and against them, and none can be truly ruled out: the β€œVirus-First Hypothesis”, the β€œEscape Hypothesis”, and the β€œReduction Hypothesis”.

Viruses were encountered turn in the previous round, possibly being older than life itself, or even being the first form of life - the β€œVirus-First Hypothesis”. Genomes of life are not static; they are mobile, splicing in and out in different parts of the DNA. These mobile genetic elements could evolve into Viruses in the future, or even are former Viruses that have lost their full function – the β€œEscape Hypothesis”. And life has indeed already seen the effect of β€œReduction Hypothesis” from Tao cannibali, getting rid of genetic elements and cellular parts until they are obligate, intracellular parasites, totally reliant on a host organism for initiating replication. Unless the Viruses are merely spores of a true Virocell…

Unovaskysian Epipelagic

Spicaiterum hero (Mutant 76) of the hero-postus Species Clade has evolved a Preforator Pilus. This mutant, which inherited the 400 Aggression and 0 Fear from its ancestor, would have been a formidable predator. If there were any other organisms to interact with. The spiky hero of this story headed 85 degrees North (1.486 radians). But the new conditions of the world with lower ATP values meant Spicaiterum hero encountered something not felt for many Millions of years, the unfixable lag damage bug. Slowly, the organism went across the Unovaskysian Epipelagic surface, searching for Glucose, but finding none. Even though it did not encounter any Viruses (0.477), the hero of the story eventually lost all of its health, dying. JustaDumbThriver still exists due to endosymbiosis.

Hydronitrum Fixatus (Species 109) was a newly emerged species in the Hydrogena Genera Clade. It was the only living organism on Treerilia at this time to have a Nitrogenase, which should theoretically help the organism to reproduce faster. Hydronitrum Fixatus was not as impacted by the reduction of ATP producing organelles, still having a positive ATP balance in the Unovaskysian Epipelagic. The Nitroen-fixating organism decided to head about 232 degrees (4.045 radians) Southwest, finding a reasonable sized cloud of Phosphate and Ammonia. Running out of Glucose, Hydronitrum Fixatus fortunately did not get infected by Viruses (0.349). The organisms did find some random organelles to engulf in its enlarged state within a current. And next to it, a member of Spicaiterum hero (Mutant 76) that was dying. Quickly, it engulfed the mutant spiky hero, successfully starting endosymbiosis.

Gorkonramic Estuary

Neo Extralumus (Mutant 77) of the Neo Species Clade had evolved Proteorhodospin, giving it ATP from light. The organism spawned next to two large terrain chunks, deciding to head 335 degrees (5.848 radians) Southeast. Following some terrain chunks the led extra luminous organism to a rather insignificant cloud of Hydrogen Sulfide. At that point, Neo Extralumus encountered a large group of airemelpara delplasm (Mutant 82). While most managed to evade capture, one member of that particular mutant was engulfed, starting endosymbiosis. While the organism noticed a strange piece of RNA in a current, it managed to avoid it and not be infected by Viruses (0.194). Neo Extralumus then found itself next of a mixed resource cloud of Phosphate, Ammonia, and Glucose, but was later pushed away from it by another current.

airemelpara delplasm (Mutant 82) was the smallest organism in the Gorkonramic. This member of the airemelpara Species Clade had lost its Cytoplasm, and decided to go 60 degrees (1.048 radians) Northeast. It bumped into several terrain chunks, but ended up on the Microbial motherlode – a large cloud of Glucose. The organism did not encounter other organisms other than its own kind. Then a strong current tried to push it away, and airemelpara delplasm tried to swim against it to no avail. A Virus particle was seen nearby, and it just managed to avoid it (0.357).

gammaloose Aleph (Mutant 84) was the largest organism in the Gorkonramic. This member of the gammaloose Species Clade had gained a Flagellum, but it was located in the wrong direction. The large organisms went 243 degrees (4.241 radians) Southwest by South, very quickly running out of Glucose. With its health running out, the organism found a large group of Neo Extralumus (Mutant 77), and attempted to engulf some of them. However, it was just slightly slow and could not catch any of them. doomlightning has become extinct by running out of Glucose and trying to rule the world by engulfment.

…Due to the lack of infecting hosts, the Cannibali virus has become extinct.

…Granitic Eruptions continue on Treerilia, with small eruption in the Olaitic Tidepool, Banana Biome, Karmaric Epipelagic, and Gorkonramic Coastal.

…A meteor was thrown out from its orbit due to orbital resonance in the Outer Phyade I Star System, scaring the skies of Treerilia and hitting the Gorkonramic Coastal.

Note 1 – Endosymbiosis is underway for several people. It absolutely saved JustaDumbThriver from becoming extinct.

Note 2 – I was hoping everyone might live this round. doomlightning was so close to getting extra food. Maybe next time, everyone’s luck will be better?

Note 3 – Since the next round will be 500 Million years in FG turns (1 Billion years in total time) , everyone can choose to change biomes when I eventually post the Options for Turn 20. Depending on my University work, I should be able to post the Options sometime next week.

Note 4 – Does anyone want a special event for Turn 21 (1 Billion years)?
